Great Highlands getaway
Greg Don 07/07/2017 18:55Distant Hills Guest House at Spean Bridge, Scotland, was a lovely and welcoming place to stay, with a nice lounge, comfortable bedrooms with ensuite, and a quality dining room with first rate breakfasts served up by hosts, Leslie and Peter. They kindly booked us a table for dinner at the nearby Russell's restaurant (great fine dining) and also dropped us down the road in Gairlochy the following morning, which saved us a long walk. Breakfast at Distant Hills was outstanding with wonderful locally sourced ingredients and very well prepared and presented. The pancakes and the tastes of Scotland plate (local cheeses, salmon and venison salami) were outstanding. Highly recommended place to stay if you're ever in this neck of Scotland.
5 Star B&B
danielkatsinon 07/07/2017 18:41I have stayed in dozens of B&B's around the world and most all are perfectly adequate. DHGH however was head and shoulders above the rest. Their attention to detail was above the rest right down to the fresh eggs from their own chickens. Delicious. Kind owners, immaculate, comfortable, great service. I could go on. But if you are staying in Spean Bridge, look no further for great accommodations.
You must stay here!
Peta Bon 03/07/2017 15:59From the moment picked up us from Gairlochy from the Great Glen Way route, in the pouring rain we knew we were in good hands. Our wet weather clothes and sacks covers were spirited away to a drying room as soon as we arrived.
The b&b is spotless, feels like home and is simply one of the warmest welcomes ever. In our room were Tunnocks Tea Cakes - such a lovely touch.
Our room was super, a great shower and a comfy bed. We went for dinner at the Old Station Inn, just 10 minute walk up the road.
You must have pancakes for breakfast - as light as a feather with warm maple syrup and fruit - absolutely delicious!
Just about the best b&b we've ever stayed in and thoroughly recommend.
Overwhelming!
Keith Eon 26/06/2017 07:29Second time in Scotland and certainly not my last! What a country I really feel amazed about the beauty of this place!
Again I chose to stay at Distant Hills Guest House and I did it on purpose considering my previous experience when visited Scotland for the first time. One have to experience this accommodation for himself to truly believe on what I'm going to say again on my 5 day stay.
Let’s begin with the hosts Peter & Lesley. What genuine people! So friendly, so helpful and so much caring! They make you feel like family.
Accommodation is perfect. Extremely clean, everything neat and in its place, all services one could ask for, very spacious and rooms are very quiet. Breakfast...Excellent not only because everything is so fresh and delicious but there’s so much variety one could choose from.
To top it off, this Guest house is TOP NOTCH in everything. Although already thanked you in person I wanted to thank you once again here dear Peter & Lesley, keep up the good work which I have no doubts you will and wish you all the best as you really deserve it. You will see me again for sure in the near future as there is so much more to explore and experience in Scotland, especially in The Isle of Skye. xxx
Only good things to say!
Neil Mon 19/06/2017 12:29My wife and I were walking The Great Glen Way. At the end of a long day, Peter kindly picked us up at Gairlochy and took us to Spean Bridge. Lovely welcome, spotlessly clean, comfortable room, warm but not too hot, and a fresh, delicious breakfast before being transported back onto the trail next morning.
Brilliant!
