An Excellent Location To Walk To The Excellent Downtown Restaurants
Mike100_13on 26/07/2017 16:43My wife and I rode up to DC from North Carolina to see our granddaughter and only spent one night at District Hotel. The hotel is in an excellent downtown DC location; we met our granddaughter at the hotel and walked over to the Barcelona Wine Bar on 14th Street. There was no parking at the hotel, we paid $40.00 to park our car a block away. The shower in the room had been recently renovated and was nice. The TV was terrible along with no refrigerator or dresser storage in the room. There was a cloths closet and a desk for my computer; free room wifi was very good. You can certainly get by with this room for a one night exploration of the wonderful downtown restaurants.
Horrible value for money
randum83on 20/07/2017 22:56I recently had a last min work trip during a big conference in dc and prices sky rocketed. I planned to air B and B but my account was frozen for a glitch. I booked this hotel because it was the only one under 300 bucks and I knew was in a safe spot.
What a terrible idea. This hotel should never be priced over 30 bucks. The room was dirty, never updated etc. peeling paint. Hairs in the bathroom. Dead rat out front. No central air just a very noisy window unit.
The only pluses was the location in Logan cr is great. How has no one else purchased this hotel to make it great. Right next to the new mason and rook where if you find yourself staying you should go to their lobby and pretend your staying there.
I had prepaid with a discount hotel company so could not leave in disgust.
One note the front staff was very nice.
The reviews are correct - think twice
anders_lokkeon 17/07/2017 07:26Just walking into the dirty entrance and reception area of the District Hotel for the first time takes you to a movie scene where the receptionist sits behind the counter, half asleep and not minding you walk in. The various colored lights, all way too cold in their temperature (ie blue lights) buzz with flies and people at the reception area - the only place in the house WiFi works - look sweatily up at you and measure you top to bottom. It is like John Wayne walks into a bar in slow motion.
In my 20+ years in business travel, this is the worst I have stayed at. Admittedly, (I think) my bed sheets were clean. The carpet most certainly was not. The AC was so loud I could not hear my alarm go off in the morning. And speaking of AC, I could see right through the wall where it was mounted. I had a whole wall of power outlets that did not work. Dirty. Walls drilled full of holes. Lamps not working. Bulbs all different colors and different types.
This hotel could have been good. Its location is great. Its price is low. But it is bad. Bad.
Terrible rooms!!!
Lisa400on 13/07/2017 19:47I booked a room through Expedia -- when I arrived at the hotel -- the hotel had canceled my reservation and I had arrived at the hotel around 5:00 pm. The desk clerk then "found" another room at the hotel for less money, but the room was horrendous!!!! It was in the basement by the electrical door and the window was ground level!! the carpet!!! The worse!!! I had to book another room in Maryland since it was last minute rush to get a room! I received a refund and left the hotel!
Think twice
Rosemarie Mon 12/07/2017 18:34The room was very cramped; no amenities at all. The only ( and very appreciated) feature was the shower! After walking 5 miles around the city having that was great.
Parking is NOT included and is a block away and costs $40 for overnight. If you're not out by 0800- it's another $23 for " the day"! Don't believe their info saying parking is $30. They only have 5 spots and are always full.
