What People are saying
central location, friendly staff
mil17on 10/08/2017 09:30I've stayed in this hotel many times since I often travel to Sofia. The location can't be better - very central but quiet, next to virtually everything, especially lots of small restaurants and bars. The area is very authentic - just a few steps off the modern Vitoscha boulevard you see poor housing and uneven pavements, but that's the way people live there.
The hotel is not a luxury, but nice and clean for a very moderate price, the staff is always helpful.
Great location, great price, lousy wifi
Michal1710on 01/06/2017 23:26I spent 4 nights at the Diter hotel coming for a conference at the Sofia IAS . The hotel is centrally located close to various attractions and the university. The building itself is old and somewhat outdated but the staff was very friendly English speaking and efficient; the rooms are small (twins are much more spacious than double beds) but clean and cozy and for 37 euro or 69 lev certainly a bargain. Breakfast (included in this price) is generous but not always of the best quality ( good cheese awful coffee cold eggs small tea selection). The wifi is free but while it works well on the lobby tends to die on the second floor rooms which is rather irritating. Overall however a descent place to stay in.
Great location but needs some renovation
JJBroomeon 29/05/2017 15:34The above summary sums up both Sofia and the Diter Hotel. Whereas the hotel is conveniently located in the centre of town and most sights are easily walkable, the hotel itself needs some sprucing up. The bed was well past it's used by date, the brown Formica wooden decor reminded me of the late Seventies and I needed a degree in engineering to work out how to use the shower (a simple hot/cold tap will suffice instead of the multitude of levers and knobs that had to be turned). Breakfast was poor to average and left out cold from 7.30am. As Sofia modernises, so too will the Diter have to.
A very nice weekend in the heart of Sofia
Erika105on 08/05/2017 10:35I spent two nights at Diter Hotel and the experience was excellent. The hotel is in a very quiet and central area. The city center can be reached in around 5 minutes by walk and the neighbourhood offers a lot of small shops, supermarket and restaurants. Although the furnitures are a bit old, the room was very cozy and super clean. The staff was very helpful and nice. I highly reccomend this place.
Otherwise good, but...
Oona Von 11/04/2017 12:19The hotel and the room were clean, there was lots space in the room and it was comfy too. The hotel wasn't too far away from the center either. The staff was friendly, especially the older man.
BUT. In the reserve, there was occurred a mistake. That's why we had to change rooms two times during our short stay, and change the hotel for the last night. Obviously, it wasn't our fault, but the staff didn't make decisions which would've been reasonable for us. That was a big minus.
Also, the breakfast was pretty bad, and there were not many options, especially if you weren't up early.
