`Living Hell` I think I just been through
AysYilmazon 24/09/2014 15:05Unbelievable, I do not know where to start, we booked the hotel from a UK website and the pictures belonged to a different hotel.Apparently, I booked for Dogan Paradise Resort which had the pictures of Dogan Beach Resort. Both hotel belongs to the same person and they used images from both hotels to make the advert look more attractive. Once we objected to it we were moved to the better one (Dogan Paradise is a run down hotel it is hardly a hostel).
Dogan Beach Hotel,
On Arrival; The receptionist was extremely rude on arrival, we ask for double bed as we are a couple we were given twin room and asked to put the beds together.(?) Two different beds that has different heights. We asked for a bell boy as due to problem with my knee, I cannot carry anything heavy, We were asked to carry them by ourselves. (?)
Beach; After been really annoyed by the receptionist we decided go by the beach. It is a pebble beach. Pebbles get extremely hot you can stand on them bare foot. Sea gets deep suddenly not suitable for young kids. One of the worst beach in Turkey and I am Turkish a have seen quite a few. Wayyyyyy below EU standards.
Pool Bar; There is not any bars at the beach so you have to go to pool bar. When I approached to the bar the Batista or Barmen whatever he is, was reading his newspapers, I was asked to wait for a minute. Once he finished reading his newspaper (I am serious I was standing there for good 2-3 minutes) he looked at me as if I should not have been there.(The hotel has all-inclusive concept which should entitle someone to go to the bar as much as one desire) Later on in the evening I was given beers immediately as he was not reading newspapers. However the beers were half froth when I asked him to fill them up, He looked at me as if I should not be there again and said that they were full.(?)
Restaurant; Opening and closing hours states in the schedule that hangs in the room but when we went there to have late breakfast at 10:30 there was nothing when we told them that we were hungry and they took out pastry baskets, I really would not mind if one of them did not had half bitten pastry in it.
Finally, We thought we would no longer be able to stay in the hotel due to staff`s attitude and hygiene reasons. We only stayed in the hotel 2 nights. We left the hotel stayed in a hostel for 12 pounds ppn in Kusadasi which has a lot better at least people were treating us with some respect.
Please do not stay in this hotel and save yourself from been treated as piss of something. Go somewhere were they threat everyone with a bit of respect. You deserve it. It is your holiday and Turkey is a beautiful country where are a lot of nice places.
Unsuitable for anyone who speaks neither Turkish or German
bagpuss1968on 13/04/2013 15:48The hotel was lovely but the rooms were tiny and there was onlya small uncomfortable lobby area to sit in when the weather was bad. The waiting staff and the bar staff were very pleasant but no one spoke English. The food was also geared to german or turkish visitors. All the information for excursions etc was in Turkish or German . One lady in reception was quite rude and disinterested when we tried to speak with her about different issues. The wifi was terrible and the only place you could actually get wifi was in the lobby which was badly furnished and not at all comfortable. We did try and complain but the lady on reception didn't even try and look interested . There was no entertainment
at all and it was too far to go to the nearest town for night life. Overall i think this hotel is not suited to anyone who any nationality other than german , and i couldn't wait to go home having been very disappointed with my holiday experience .
Not suitable for anyone that only speaks English , very German orientated!!!
Ausumn37on 13/04/2013 15:40On arrival the hotel presented as very nice, we had booked a twin room and to our disappointment we got a double and pull out sofa single bed.The rooms are a joke very small for 2 people , no english tv at all all turkish& german. All staff at reception have little or no English which is very frustrating, there was no rep no information in English and nobody that could tell us where to go or what to do. Thank god we had wifi in the reception area as this provided us with information. but the wifi was also limited it was very week everywhere else in the hotel except reception. They had no maps and we not very forthcoming with any information. The food was very German food orientated, there was no entertainment except music at the bar area, we never got to chat to any of the waiters or bar staff as nobody spoke English, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, we had to book a hotel in Kusidasi for a night to get away from the boredom of this hotel, it's only really for Turkish people/ Germans / Dutch , NOT IRISH we won't recommend this hotel to anyone and we were very happy to get home
