What People are saying

The place to stay

Peter Son 22/04/2017 20:09

What a nice place to stay. Right on a river. Very attentive staff. Excellent chef. Well worth it. Nothing was to much. My wife and i would stay again. They also had bycicles and very good tracks around for riding.

Excellent

We came to enjoy the quiet beautiful surroundings and all the amenities. The outdoor pool was crowded but we enjoyed it, the spa was great, the nature was mesmerizing. Outdoor dinner was 4 stars as well as the breakfast. It was a wonderful classy experience, and we'd love to go back.

Convenient location and friendly hosts

We spent three nights at the Domaine de la Courbe, as it was close to the Zoo de la Flèche which we wished to visit.

As we were travelling with an electric car, I had inquired prior to booking if they would have an outdoor outlet available to plug in overnight, which they kindly agreed to provide. It turned out a little adventurous, but the hosts made good on their promise and we were able to top up.

The premises are spacious and well maintained, this is a renovated ancient paper mill. The area holds quite some charm, nestled by the river, a little dam, several buildings and a large parking area.

Breakfast is self-service, has a good selection of fruit juices, yogurt, breads and pastries, cereals, cheese and meats, milk, coffee. No scrambled or fried eggs, but we didn't ask.

The evening restaurant is pleasant, and the chef offers an interesting and innovative choice of cuisine. Above average, but not exceptional either - they are clearly trying their best to improve.

On the downside, I would say that the renovations are a little lacking as the overall build quality, using modern construction materials in a setting that in my eyes deserves a higher standard. For example the wall separating two adjacent suites is thin plasterboard and not well soundproofed. The bathroom is clean and functional, but we would have expected better.

We had two bedrooms and a large living area, the bathroom and one of the bedrooms were fairly small. The living area was in contrast extremely spacious.

Still, we had a pleasant stay, the 10-15 minute drive to the zoo was easy, and we had a great time. The hosts went really out of their way to make good on their promises.

I would rate 3 1/2 (good), the average rating is correct but slightly harsh.

A lovely stay and would recommend

Needed 3 rooms close to le lude, found this gem of a hotel, lovely setting, lovely evening meal. Sat nav could not find the hotel so arrived later than planned, evening meal very nice, rooms lovely and clean and friendly staff. Few niggles in so far as room 2 air con buzzed all night and breakfast was limited somewhat but apart from that a lovely stay, will definitely return next time in that area and would recommend to others.

An amazing moment

We booked one night on our way to the "pays de la Loire", where we decided to buy fine wine, our one night stay at the "Domaine", was really a great one,
The domain offers amenities beyond expectations, a vast park on the border of the Loir the local river, an outdoor dinner by the river and park, include, bikes, out door pool, sauna, indoor pool/whirlpool and a wonderful breakfast...Its not cheap of course but if it is in your budget limits I would highly recommend a visit...
