hw-in-bermudaon 20/06/2017 12:37We travelled to Domaine de Saint-Esteve from Lauzerte, for an overnight to visit Millau. It is very reasonably priced and the staff is very helpful and courteous.
When I spoke in French the reception staff noted the present tense fumbling, and offered, in French. to speak English, if I so desired... my choice.
I am vegetarian, and the hotel had replied to my query on food, immediately I emailed prior to booking, and the food was cooked fresh and to order in a very clean restaurant. It was very nice and the deserts were wonderful.
The chalet was a little small, but good aircon, nice view and no noise coming through the wall.
Have recommended to friends in France and will do so to others in the UK.
Great stop over.
Good for walkers
363bevon 17/06/2017 16:18We stopped at this hotel on our way to Spain as we read that it was near the motorway. This isn't the case. It is quite a way off the motorway which goes down to Marseille. It is also a little off the beaten track up a winding roadway. It is comprised of chalets which are spread over a large area and some are quite a way from the main reception / pool area , meaning some guests drove down to the pool. It is also away from the centre of Millau. The chalets are clean if a little cramped. We were disappointed in that we arrived on a Monday and the restaurant doesn't open in the evening on a Monday so we had to drive in search of food. When it is open it doesn't open until 8 pm. Breakfast was also disappointing and quite limited. This is an area popular with campers and walkers .
Good stop with a view of the Bridge
Clerkenwellmanon 10/06/2017 18:16This is a reasonably new facility made up of about 40 chalets which provide basic accomodation which contains, nonetheless, all you need for a night. Our terrace had a view of the bridge in the distance and we found that the view from outside the restaurant was very good. The dinner in the restaurant was nicely done at reasonable prices and the breakfast was, well, breakfast. A good and economical find.
surprisingly good for a short stay
wal4don 21/09/2016 22:19we do not normally stay in chalets but we wanted somewhere, at short notice, near the viaduct with effective air-conditioning in a very hot September. we were pleasantly surprised. the receptionist who greeted us was charming and very helpful with excellent English. the chalet was modern, well-equipped and attractive with excellent views - especially of the viaduct. It was compact but well planned and there were several facilities on site - pool, restaurant etc.
the only drawbacks were the very uncomfortable sofa and the creaky floors - the rets was good. the whole site seemed well laid out.
Wifi was intermittent but that did not bother us too much.
air con was a great bonus
John Won 12/09/2016 13:02lovely area and lodges mountain drives you can make it to the med in one hour or so millau has the highest road bridge i have ever seen due to vertigo i could not cross it but the visitors centre is a must unlike the english councils the french positively promote river swimming
