DO NOT STAY HERE - WORST HOTEL IN FLORENCE
Lee Son 08/03/2015 01:29Bathrooms dirty and very bad lighting. No Hot Water or Heat in entire place. No security as everyone is issued 'master' keys and can open any door on the 4th floor. Floor had cigarette burns all over it and beds were not clean looking. Not enough blankets and I slept under my coat the 1st night, and I left the next morning and checked in to a proper hotel. Staff did not respond to any requests or complaints. I have not heard a word from this hotel even though I have sent them detailed emails about everything that was wrong. DO NOT STAY HERE. It would be safer, warmer and cleaner at a hostel than staying here. Bathroom shower did not drain, shower volume handle was broken and water could not be turned off once turned on.

Anthony Mon 14/08/2014 11:31is how this hotel (or apparently this "b&b") should be described. Rude (staff), smelly, exhausting (5 flights of stairs with heavy bags) are also other adjectives that spring to mind when i think of this disastrous place. things got off to a bad start on arrival when we found that no one was there to meet us at the hotel and we were required to call a number on the door. This was despite the fact that we had sent an email explaining what time we were to arrive. After lugging our heavy baggage up several flights of stairs (no elevator) we found ourselves out of breath and drenched in sweat on a hot summer florentine afternoon. We were then rudely demanded that payment be made on the spot in cash which involved another trip down the stairs to a nearby ATM and back. We were ushered into a room with stains on the sheets and met with a pungent odour that can only be described as foul. Last time i checked the 2nd b in "b&b" meant breakfast. Hotel Domus Duomo, despite advertising themselves as a "b&b" neglected this second b and after arriving at the so called restaurant attributed to the hotel we were told that breakfast was not provided or at least, "not free." Our misery extended to the end of our trip - after initially requesting a late checkout of 1pm (which was confirmed) we were ordered out of the building by the rude manager who had shown us in. we were forced to pack up instantly and leave.

Al1e0non 14/02/2014 19:54Located right in the heart of Florence, just round the corner from the iconic Duomo, this is the place to stay if you just need a bed. The 4th floor houses five private rooms with just the basics that are spacious, airy, and comes with a private bathroom located separately and free WIFI. There is no lifts but that's expected in most places in Florence. There are maps, books and information in the hallway bookcase for free (not the books). There was suppose to be access to a kitchen, but I was never shown as it stated Bed and Breakfast on Bookings.com. The noise from outside is loud from the revellers, so sleeping was very hard at nights, but being so close it's expected. Everything is in walking distance which I good and there is even a discount at a restaurant for staying here which comes in handy if your on a budget! The price was good for my stay and there is a €2 tax pppn charge! They have improved since people's last reviews as there was two towels, toilet paper, no cleaner and staff contacted me prior to my arrival and on the day of arrival as checking closed at 9pm and I was running late. Too early check out time as flights to London are late in the day.

selinakeenanon 18/01/2014 16:41I booked to stay at this b+b for 19 January 2014, one night. I received an email from them asking my estimated time of arrival AS they do not live there, they have to send someone to open the door and allow you entrance. I replied I would let them know a few days beforehand. I have been trying to contact them by phone, email,sms since Thursday but no reply, so I have nowhere to stay in Florence tomorrow unless I oay another hotel.
I strongly urge you to avoid this place. I am reporting them to the Florence Tourist Authorities,
No show!
kea2013on 07/12/2013 14:50I had booked and confirmed a room for three nights over the phone and via email. I arrived at 7:30 pm and was told I would be met. No one turned up, no one picked up the phone, until I reached the receptionist who said that it wasn't her problem. Abysmal. Had to sort out another hotel, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise reading the reviews on here.
