Bates Motel Purple - not even a star
Ryan Mon 24/05/2017 19:39This 'hotel' moved all of out things after one night in the room, into another without us knowing. And the courteous way they told us, with a paper note on the door after getting home one night was a touch of class. I am absolutely disgusted.
So my wife went to our room after coming in on the second night, and discovered there was another COUPLE in our room - after reading a note on the door saying they moved us because there was ONLY 2 of US and it was a mistake. No sign of all of our belongings. My wife was hysterical and it was beyond a traumatic experience - no idea where our money, clothes, passports, jewellery was etc..
We ended up leaving the hotel early as when we went to our 'new' room.. the key did not let us in (without our belongings again) - we had to sleep on the lobby sofa with no idea what had just happened waiting for a staff member in the morning. We both thought it was a bad dream. Absolutely unbelievable and so inhumane. I want to make a formal complaint and want some reimbursement for the trauma and absolute poor service. This just was not right. We actually left a night early and checked in to maison Kalea nearby through the sheer despair and paid for a night that we should already had a room for. Nobody forthcoming with an apology either of course. Gobsmacked
Run down
Vlatka Ion 12/11/2016 21:45The beds are terribly uncomfortable, you can feel each mattress spring; my husbands mattress was thicker than mine; the whole bed was wobbly and not at all good.
The room has very old furniture with questionable cleanliness.
Breakfast room looks much less attractive than on the photos and food isn't re-stocked after it runs out so there's a pretty good chance you will not get much to eat.
General feeling of the place is very run down.
Some rooms have great seaview but unfortunately ours didn't. We had a double room with a private bathroom, some rooms have shared bathrooms so this is more a hostel than a hotel.
The reception is not open 24/7 so one night we had a problem to get in, we thought we were locked out until we realized that the doors have to be pushed hard in order to open.
On the positive side, there was plenty of parking and they didn't charge us for it.
There are vending machines within the hotel which come in handy.
Also, there is a pretty garden.

When You want meet Sorrento or close place and dont spend much money, good choice here
Great good value
BilbaoOldhamon 30/08/2016 18:06We have just spent a great week at the Purple. The location is fantastic, within easy reach of the centre of Sant' Agnello and Sorrento, with good local transport connections. The hotel is basic but good value overall. We booked a double with sea view and a quadruple for our 2 teenage children (only one available when booking) but when we arrived we were given two double bed ones and we were told we could get a refund. We could not agree to this, and although the hotel was full, they still managed to make the change for us. Very nice staff at reception and the cleaners, too. Breakfast was reasonably good, with food replenished often. The small swimming pool was an added bonus, as it was never full, and the orchard type garden was very pleasant, despite the mosquitoes!
Good value and good location.
UnitedKingdomWendyon 20/08/2016 18:11Lovely place to stay in a quiet part of Sant Agnello. Amazing views over the bay of Naples just a few metres from this hotel.
The hotel is quite basic but provides all you need for a nice stay. More of a hostel than a hotel with really helpful, friendly staff.
Train station is a ten minute walk away and local bus stop nearby. It takes about 25 minutes to walk into nearby Sorrento. Supermarket 10 minutes walk.
Nice little pool, sun beds and a garden with seating areas for guest use. The pool never seemed too busy.
We had a lovely sea view (room 5).
Breakfast is included.
Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff. They printed our return boarding passes for us, rang the transfer bus to sort our return the airport, gave us ice for our drinks on numerous occasions and good advice for the local area on things to do etc...
Thank you for a lovely stay!
