Goa Asvam - BENS INN
cosmosomenon 30/03/2017 13:02From Dabolim airport went to Vasco da gama by bus(25mins) and then Kadamba bus to Mapusa (30mins) and from Mapusa took bus for Arambol or Keri and get down(45mins) at Madlamaz village (Mandrem) then have to walk up to 2 km approx in Mandrem- Asvem- Morjim road.
Actually walking may be avoided if it is possible to catch the busses which goes via Ashvem to Mandrem or Keri.
There, checked in BENS INN. Its very very nice experience. I have been going to Goa since 12 years, this place, but this place, first. and is really very calm and quiet with everything from bike hiring to restaurants beach is very near.
Only problems are local Buses are very limited, only 3 to 4 services. Here(Asvem) one end Mandram (highway) and other end Mandram (Madlamaz) you get plenty of busses for going anywhere.I actually visit GOA by local buses and i truly enjoy a lot.
Actually this hotel and place both for travellers who wants quieter and best value. Beach is very near visible from hotel. Restaurants are also there but I have to walk at least 2 km to reach Madlamaz Market(Mandrem) for small shoppings or Desi Tea or desi breakfast etc. If driving comfortable hire two wheeler or car best. But I suggest its the best lace.
Don't be put off
tracy don 24/03/2017 23:31This is in a rural location , if you like walking 1mile to the beach then great. , don't be put off when you arrive, the idea I'd staying here after the morning was a no go. But spen a day out and about came back to really welcoming staff, while the rooms are basic it's very clean. Lots of British people return year after year I can sort of understand why,
A jewel of a place!
Alison Son 18/03/2017 13:59We absolutely loved this place in the quite area outside Cavelossim. The best bit about this hotel is the staff and owners. They are so friendly and welcoming you feel like you have made new friends. Even the hotel dogs come to sit and play with you! Savio the head waiter is a sweetheart and the owners Puri and Serafino were so welcoming they invited us into their lovely home for Christmas Day. The hotel itself is lovely. The pool and bar area was spotless and Savio and his staff were very attentive. Anita on reception was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was very good and always made fresh to order. The breakfast was typically Goa with toast extra sweet jam and plenty of tea or coffee. But the staff are quite happy to store your own jam, peanut butter etc. The rooms were spacious and cleaned constantly by the room boys. Yes, they are a bit dated but we loved the character, much better than your generic clinical 5* places. The pillows are the usual long and thin affairs but it was no trouble ordering a second pillow each and they were delivered in less than 5 minutes of asking. The hotel is a nice 20 min walk to the near deserted beaches with lots of wildlife to see on the way. There is a bus you can catch nearby to the nearest town of Margoa. We loved it here and met lots of new friends as the hotel and staff give the hotel a friendly atmosphere. We are coming back next year and cannot wait!
Lovely stay
Jane Gon 14/03/2017 20:57The hotel although basic is worth so much more than its 3 star rating. From day one of our arrival we were made to feel welcome and we soon felt at home. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful, in particular Anita, the hotel manager who greeted us everyday warmly and could not have been more helpful. We took advantage of our 3 free meals a week, which we found to be of exceptional quality. The restaurant manager was always friendly, efficient and helpful. Laundary service was available which we found to be essential during our months stay; clothes were returned beautifully laundered and ironed, with a smile. Taxi service was available and efficient, with local town 10 minutes drive away. We enjoyed the walk, but travellers should know that the beach is a 20 minute walk away. We loved our stay and would throughly recommend if you're looking for clean, eco-friendly and efficient but not luxury.
New to the Dona Sa Maria
NotttinghamJakon 02/03/2017 11:20We have just returned from our second visit to South Goa and our first visit to the Dona Sa Maria. From the outset we were treated with kindness and made to feel so welcome by the owners and their staff. The maximum rating I have given this experience reflects value for money, comfort and care , general all round satisfaction and facilities made available to us at this 2 star property. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels and clean linen provided too. Love the hotels green credentials too. Looking forward to a return visit.
