Top location - very good business hotel
Filip Von 04/08/2017 09:56Check-in was very smoothly although my reservation could not be immediately traced in the system. Room was perfect and quite. Breakfast was perfect. This is a large hotel, with large lobby and very busy elevators. 500m from Dom Platz and Rhein. Very close to the old City (Altstadt).
Mice at the Bar and very poor customer service
Jorge Von 26/07/2017 13:47I was staying at the hotel last week, and while having dinner at the Harry's Bar we saw mice running around. I was petrified and astonished. The waiter immediately realized too and come to tell us that, they knew already, that the problem is being going on for some days already, and there is nothing else they could do.
We complained at reception, and they said, that the management already knew but there is nothing the could do. They only add the complain to the log book.
I told them that in my opinion if a Restaurant is having mice, for health reasons they should keep it close until the problem is solved. They said, they prefer to keep it open as is only bar they have at the hotel.
I'm still shocked about the situation and even worse how they manage this problem. The hotel is good, and it is well located, but this experience ruined the entire stay. They didn't even bother to send an apologice card or anything'. And course they charged for the full invoice of the bar, which I did pay and I regret so much for being so silly. I will never come back!

CBD117on 21/07/2017 18:01Chose the hotel for central location, inclusive breakfast and swimming pool.
Disappointed to find out that the pool cost 15 euros per person per day if we wanted to use it. I consider that this was misrepresented. On arrival they advised that they had not got the room we booked available, so upgraded us to a Komfort level, which was nice. Excellent views of Cathedral from glass lift. Room cleaning & replenish ranged from meticulous on second day to patchy which was disappointing after such a great start. Massive breakfast buffet amazing including TWELVE choices of muesli ! Overall good despite my niggles.
Mice running all over bar!!!!!
Siobhan Bon 18/07/2017 22:55Just having drinks in Harry's Bar in this hotel and to my absolute horror saw three mice running across the floor under my feet, followed by two more mice within a couple of minutes!!!. Mentioned this to the bar staff who said that the managers are aware of the problem. Took drinks and returned to my room. Mentioned it at reception as I left but they just shrugged and said "Did you tell the bar staff?" Up to this our experience in the hotel has been very positive but now ,OMG, traumatised!!!
6 out of 10 for Dorint Hotel in Cologne Germany
thegr8_wallon 17/07/2017 09:12I ranked the Dorint 6 out 10 because it is a 5 star hotel at the edge of the historic old town of Cologne. It's central location makes it a great base for your Koln holiday and for christmas markets. Lots to see and do, with many great places to, shop, eat and drink around the corner.
The lobby of the hotel is large and opens up into the bar and restaurant area. The checkin and check out were extremely slow, however staff was very welcoming.
Rooms had ample space and were nice and quiet, with comfortable beds.
My only complaints are that interior room furniture should be updated or better maintained, and the Room service food can be drastically improved.
