Decent for the Money
rockwalzon 23/05/2017 14:42The hotel is in a good location, less than 10 minutes fro the old town and about a mile from the central train station. Everything was decent, the room, shower, etc. About what you'd expect from a hotel like this in Germany. I will say that my bed was quite uncomfortable, although not unusually so for Europe. Breakfast was awesome, although after the third day I was ready for them to mix up the selection a bit but it was the same every morning. Good access to the trains (S-Bahn) to anywhere in the city.
very nice hotel in great location
travinfo60on 13/05/2017 20:23new modern hotel just a short EASY walk to the old city center. very quiet, good sleeping. and again, the location is perfect. staff is very friendly and helpful with everything. has a streetcar stop right outside hotel for easy connection to anywhere in the city. room rate was fine too.
good choice for value for money
Volker Kon 07/04/2017 00:00Was there for some days and liked the location as it is only a 10 minutes walk from the center of Dresden with all the tourist places and eateries and restaurants/bars.
Further to the Neustadt is also reachable by foot, however it may take 20 or 30 minutes walking.
The rooms were relatively big and in good condition and the matress was really good in my room.
The bar is not too big, however the bar keeper I had was really good. Friendly, at service and not with a closed mouth yet funny.
All in all a good choice and value for money in the relatively expensive city of Dresden.
The check in fast and efficient with extremely friendly personnel. Parking in a park gararge below the hotel, parking not free and priced at 10 EUR per 24 hours.
A good feature is the tram station just opposite the hotel entrance making commuting into the town and other areas very convenient.
Would go there again.
True value for money!
ChristoffCphon 01/02/2017 20:53Staying at a hotel during New Years can be troubling, however, this was definitely not! The hotel staff showed us great courtesy from the moment we stepped into the lobby to us leaving 48 hours later.
The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms the same - and the breakfast buffet huge. Really. I have been at very few hotels offering more at a breakfast buffet than this - and they have all been exquisite 5-star hotels.
Overall, this hotel provides you with plenty value for money - and hey, it is practically in the city center.
Would happily stay here again
a_traveler54on 16/01/2017 00:44This hotel gets a lot of things right, and I would be happy to stay here again. The check-in process was quick. There were some issues with check-out, but the hotel resolved them quite satisfactorily via a subsequent email conversation. (I find it's much easier to evaluate a hotel based on how they handle something that goes wrong, which they did it very well here.) The room itself was clean and comfortable, it had a room darkening shade that worked, and it was easy to sleep well here. Random nice touch: I liked that the bath towels had little loops on them to hang them with. The breakfasts were also completely reasonable; I would rate them as above average.
The negatives were not very negative. The decor was a little dated and could use a refresh. The wifi login was in German only but was easy to figure out (Click "Gast," then enter room number and last name). That said, there was not much bandwidth available at the hotel, so occasionally network access was quick but usually it was agonizingly slow. One last small nit was that a couple of times whoever cleaned the room flipped my used water glass over and put it back in the bathroom like it was new, but it was the same glass. I know because it had a slight crack in it, which is why I was hoping they would replace it. I guess reusing the glass is a "green" thing to do, but it seemed odd that it was put back like a new glass would be.
So overall I was very happy to stay here and would gladly do so again.
