Decent but clinical business hotel
English_Alon 14/08/2017 22:44All the staff I encountered at the Dorint were very helpful.
The bedrooms were a decent size, clean and air conditioned, which is important in the German summers. If you want a business standard hotel, it fits the bill.
The hotel is in a good location for getting to the railway station, shops and plenty of restaurants a short walk away. It's also in a fairly quiet spot near a nice park.
It may be unfair but I found the Dorint to be very clinical and I wouldn't rush back. Maybe it needs a make over? For instance the fridge is quite a feature in the bedroom but it was empty. The beds were quite hard with no padding on the mattress. I ended up lying on one of the duvets to get more comfortable. One thing that annoys me in virtually every hotel in Germany that presents itself as a business hotel: I'm stuck here on my own for business and I'm fed up only ever getting CNN or BBC world news. Please give me more choice and include some light entertainment channels!
I thought the breakfast buffet was a rip off at €24 although that price may be to do with the fact I booked through Expedia. I don't see why that should come into the equation.
This review probably sounds like I didn't enjoy my stay. That's not true. It was just nothing special.
Ideal Wiesbaden location
Jim Yon 13/08/2017 20:52We (2 adults, an 11 yo and a 9 yo) spent 4 nights here. We visited Wiesbaden and also used it as a base to visit the Rhineland and Heidelburg. Our room was spacious with a double bed and a sofa sleeper. The hotel is ideally located such that it is easy to access the highway from it but also it is only a handful of blocks from the historic center of Wiesbaden which we walked to. It was very quiet at night and we slept very well. The buffet breakfast was very good but expensive at 24 Eu per person (half price for kids). We did not use the parking garage because each night we were able to park on the street right in front of the hotel (free). The staff were very helpful. The room did have AC and it worked.
Comfortable hotel with gym & pool

Fair selection of food for breakfast.
Gym & Pool both a bit limited, but pleasant.
Friendly staff.
Good location near river & able to walk into town in a few minutes.
Nice hotel, but probably mainly for business
WoodyMTon 11/07/2017 11:38My wife and I stayed 2 days at the hotel. We selected it because it is close to the city center and has a little garden. The hotel is pleasant, the rooms are fine and the little garden is nice. there was a few things annoying. Upon arrival we came early and asked if the room was ready. It was, but we were not allowed to check in unless we paid for early check in. I think it is the first time I received that message. Secondly, the internet in the room was not stable. Finally, I wanted to go to the gym in morning, but that was not open in the early morning. On the plus side for a tourist. It may not be very close to the city center, but it is close to the modern and vibrant Western part of the Wiesbaden.
High level business hotel

When travelling for work to Frankfurt it is a nice alternative to the main hotel chains in the economy capital of Europe.
Big rooms, modern, big tv screen, two different kind of pillow, rich and good quality breakfast.
