very good standart dormy inn hotel
vincentParisFranceon 27/05/2017 15:32as all dormy inn hotels, there is a nice onsen (both indoor and outdoor) in the hotel which is great to use. Laundry corner. Small rooms but this is always the case with dormy-inn products. Less than 10 mn walk from Senday station. Nice tongue's beef (a Sendai speciality) restaurants close to the hotel. good WIFI. Will come back again
Five Outstanding Days in Sendai
HeatherNGKon 02/04/2017 04:45We were looking forward to our stay in Sendai as a good contrast to the time we spent in and around Tokyo and were not disappointed. Service at the front desk was pleasant and speedy (though we booked and prepaid online so that might have helped) and the hotel felt and smelled clean from beginning to end. The room size was not unexpectedly small, in fact it was quite comfortable but if you've never stayed in a large city I'd suggest looking clearly at the room dimensions before booking. For our use it was perfect as we spent most of our time out and exploring the city.
The Annex is close to very nearly every site we wanted to go to. A VERY short walk from the Sendai train station as well as a long covered shopping street just two streets down. Pachinko parlors, crane game/arcades, restaurants galore, countless retail shops. Our favorites were the Pokemon store, Book Off which was not in the covered shopping street but just a minutes walk down, and the crane game arcades. Such fun! It's also very close to some of the best SENDAI beef you could find. (Please look up the difference between Wagyu and Kobe, they aren't interchangeable)
The breakfast was fantastic and filling, perfect beginning to a day. The laundry was easy to use and only the dryer is coin operated so it saved us a few hundred yen. The cleaning service is also amazing. You can request that your sheets not be changed every day in order to help cut down on energy use and you can even request that your room not be cleaned on the television! While we had all meals aside from breakfasts out of the hotel I heard from other guests that the food was delicious. Also, there is a smoking room for guests and even right next to it as the doors opened and closed (it's right next to the onsen and laundry facility) I couldn't even get a whiff of smoke which I am particularly sensitive to.
Due to a miscalculation we had to leave a night early which was regrettable because the bed we had in our room was the most comfortable out of any on our trip. We definitely plan on going back and honestly our experience there is part of the reason we plan on making vacations to Japan a regular occurrence.
The one and ONLY con I could possibly come up with is that the rules appear to be pretty strict about not using the onsen if you have tattoos. I have two small decorative tattoos and didn't bother asking the front desk to make any exceptions because I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. It's a perfectly reasonable request considering WHY that rule is in place at most public bath houses.
Highly recommended. Good location. Clean rooms. Public bath. Free night ramen
Zachary Won 04/01/2017 05:53I was visiting Sendai and stayed here for three nights. It's located near relatively near Sendai station and near the shopping street.
The room is clean and has a shower and toilet. I mention that only because they have a public bath using hot spring water, and some hotels don't include showers in the room.
The public bath is great. There is an indoor hot bath and an outdoor hot bath. I went in December so the outdoor bath was great.
Extra bonus is that they serve free ramen every night. It's quite good too.
I can't recommend this hotel enough.
Highly recommended
Felix Con 26/12/2016 05:46Very affordable and the quality of this hotel is excellent! Friendly staff that speaks decent English. They also offer free onsen as well as late night ramen snacks to the customers.
I am a big fan of Dormy Inn, when ever we visit Asia we will always try to book one of Dormy Inn establishments. They never disappoint!
Great location and comfortable stay!
Rupal Pon 22/11/2016 08:02Don't look any further! This is a great hotel with a great location and friendly English speaking staff. First time visiting Sendai, booked this hotel from reviews and a friend's recommendation. Parking is 1800 yen for a larger car per day but it so convenient to be able to park our car in one spot for the weekend. There is pretty much no free parking anywhere in the city. The hotel room was small but very comfortable, clean and cozy. There is free internet and you can purchase movies to watch. Free ramen in the evenings and free onsen for guests. Massage therapists available as well and different charges for different timed sessions. We got massages and loved it. Didn't get a chance to try the onsen or free ramen. Staff is very friendly, spoke a little bit of English which made our stay very nice. No noise from the city or outside. Would definitely stay here next time we're in Sendai too!
