The hotel looks to be pretty new and is a great concept for a limited space. However, even though it's in downtown and close to government buildings it's not really worth it to pay for a room with a view of the Capitol. The rooms are pretty nice and clean, but the wifi is not free unless you're a Hilton Honors member. Also, breakfast is not free but if you don't want to pay $11 for the continental buffet then you can grab a sandwich and coffee in the lobby "gift shop".

Great room and service! Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Parking garage was too small for my pickup and not well marked. Had to inch my way into a parking spot. It was really close to even drive through because most vehicles were to long for the space. One elevator was broke- but i went in the middle of the week so it wasnt too bad. I would stay here again!

Probably best place to stay in JC

This hotel changed hands since I grew up in Jeff City years ago and Double Tree did a very good job "working with what they had" in terms of renovation. Comfortable, safe and convenient are the words I would use to describe it. Probably stayed here 3 times in the last several years. A couple of the rooms have nice views of the capital. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast and wouldn't pay extra for it as you are booking...

Don't Stay Here

Don't bother with the $25 Sysco breakfast. Check-in/out: After using our digital key and expecting to find additional keys and HH benefits in our room, we still had to go back to the front desk to obtain these things. The hotel information book included express checkout and stated that a receipt would be found under our door in the morning. It was not. We left the keys in the room anyway and received an email statement later that day. Parking: One of the reasons we chose this hotel was for the parking garage included. Once we returned to the desk and received additional keys (the app said we could not use the digital key on the garage), we were told that the garage was full, our vehicle would probably not fit (Toyota Highlander), and that we should park on the street. We had an entire tradeshow booth in the car as we were setting up for a conference the next morning. Not the security we were looking for. We were able to park in the garage the next night and there were suburbans and large pickup trucks in the garage. I don't know why we were told that our Highlander wouldn't fit. Elevators: On our first night, only one elevator worked. You also had to use your room key to get the elevator to work. Ice machines are not located on every floor so my husband decided to take the stairs down one flight to get ice instead of waiting for the only working elevator. Unbeknownst to him, the stairs didn't open onto room floors. This seems like a fire hazard to me. So he had to walk 9 flights down to the lobby in order to wait for the only working elevator to take him back up to one floor to get ice and then another floor to get to our room. On our second night there, both elevators stopped working. The key card system in the only working elevator was malfunctioning and none of the staff could fix it. So we got to use the service elevator.

Swastika in DoubleTree Book

Headline kind of says it all. Staff failed to catch a previous guests graffiti in the hotel book. My kids found profanity and swastikas which wasn't a lot of fun having to explain on our family trip. Seems like something that could happen anywhere but it wasn't surprising that it happened at this hotel which would make sense if you've ever been here. For $250 a night I was expecting marginally better.
