Wonderful Blue Water Bridge location
Barbara Ron 24/05/2017 20:15We paid a little extra for a water-side room in order to watch the St Clair boat and ship traffic: great fun! They went under the Blue Water Bridge, and it was beautiful night and day. Motel is close to the river walk, too.
Two problems: walls are thin.
People talking next door kept us awake.
Also NO complimentary breakfast and the restaurant adjoining is quite expensive.
Motel super clean, nice staff, and we would go again for the beautiful Bridge experience. And we will take our own food.

Ratshanon 17/05/2017 02:39From the second we checked in, this easily became one of my favorite places to stay. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The view and surrounding area is breathtaking. The staff went above and beyond to make us happy and the warm cookies during check-in were such a treat. Breakfast at Freighters was amazing, the pool was warm and roomy and the gym was a bonus. Definitely recommend this place to anyone! We will be back!

Brian Pon 15/05/2017 16:44It's been a few weeks so I don't remember all of the specifics, but we booked the "premium room" which I think means you have views of both the river and the bridge. We were on the top floor with two balconies. One facing the bridge and Lake Huron and the other the river. A couple chairs. Very nice view. The room was clean and comfortable. About what you'd expect for the price. Lots of space. Nice bathroom. The carpet was not comfortable on bare feet. Seemed a little sticky.
Have been to the restaurant downstairs a couple of times, but never for breakfast. Apparently some people get a coupon for their breakfast buffet. We didn't so we spent about $12 each on a really lousy breakfast. Not sure the association between the restaurant and hotel, but they need to fix this. Everything was cold. I saw them add eggs to the existing container on TOP of the other eggs. Eh. Maybe not owned by the hotel, but it's connected so people who stay here end up eating there.
One gripe was there was a room service tray outside of one room from like 7pm until we left the next morning. Staff was very friendly though.

anitabV4121BBon 13/05/2017 13:21While this hotel is a Double Tree, the standards for this franchise are below other locations we have stayed at. The river view was nice. The fitness center was sub par to amenities offered at other wellness clubs.
Comfortable rooms, great views
travelingbenson 08/05/2017 16:36We stayed for a conference and sold out the hotel. The staff was helpful and readily available. Rooms were made up daily. Comfortable beds, great climate control, newly decorated, comfortable rooms. The water pressure left a bit to be desired, but even with the sold out hotel, hot water was always available.
