Comfortable Place To Stay
TravelinAlanon 30/05/2017 16:31Older, but well kept place to stay. Nice size room which included microwave and fridge.
Nice swimming pool, which I did not use. Friendly, helpful staff. Some issues with slow wifi. Short drive to downtown to Broadway street.
Better than expected!
Jodi Don 01/05/2017 05:03Clean room. Warm shower. Friendly staff. Conveniently located to downtown (UBER fare was $5-$9 depending on traffic). Excellent prices. No trouble. I'm giving four stars for the price range — it's not a four star Hilton. It's a four star cheap Motel. Obviously being upgraded slowly but surely. I'll stay here again for this price. :) One request for management — please make hair dryers available in rooms or at front desk.
A DUMP, pure and simple.
Joseph Won 09/04/2017 16:52No hair dryer, broken headboard on bed, torn fabric on chair. Frig did work. Tiny room.
Not a safe location. No breakfast. Stopper in tub did not work. They did let me check in early. Pillows were very weak and tiny.

Fantastic Stay - great place
Gorilla1960on 10/11/2016 18:47We chose to stay here in spite of the poor reviews, given the proximity to downtown Nashville and we didn't want an overpiced characterless hotel for our 2 week holiday. Won't diss other people's reviews as that is their own experience, but we had no issues at all. The reception staff are really pleasant and helpful, espcially Michael and Shelley. We had room 107 "The Thing Called Love Room" (from the film) and it was spotless. The maid service was exceptional with Preedom looking after us really well - clean linen every day, hot water with good pressure shower and new soap every day I built a small wall with the unopened packets. Clean fridge for our beers and clean microwave that we didn't need to use. Our key cards were a bit temperamental but easy to reboot at reception. We did not have any problems with noise during the night and slept incredibly well - large and really comfy bed, blackout curtains and quiet aircon. It was unseasonably hot this October (late 80's) so we could use the pool during the day - not heated but clean and refreshing. Sure it was a little bit odd sunbathing by the pool in the middle of the complex but we had a relaxing few days soaking up the rays. With downtown within 35 minutes walk and a bus stop virtually outside it was easy to get to the nightlife without a car. We do get that the area is a bit poor with maybe some "shady" characters around and we were warned by locals about walking near the projects, but we had no bad experiences and met some really interesting characters. At no point did we feel any anxiety or uncomfortableness. We fell a little in love with The Drake and its employees and having spent a whole 2 weeks there it was with a little sadness that we moved on. Not for everyone but if you want to have an experience and some reality instead of being locked away in a soleless cash cow of a hotel then you won't be disappointed with this little gem.
