What People are saying

Appalling experience due to dire management

Arrived to be greeted by fill in receptionist who had little or no knowledge of the area, spoke incomprehensible rapid French and would not adjust to our obvious confusion. It was a public holiday and the hotel was the only eatery open in town. Initially he told us the restaurant was fully booked, despite our having booked, but backed down when the waitress said we could come at eight o clock. We hang around outside the empty restaurant until the appointed time. The one and only waitress and one and only chef were then faced with all those resident in the hotel - all pre booked - including two bicycle teams plus their support staff and 24 others. Obviously she struggled even with occasional support from the temporary receptionist. This was an entirely predictable state of affairs that left many fuming over long delays and cold meals and incorrect orders. The waitress did her best and kept smiling and could not be blamed but whoever is in charge of Logis locally should be ashamed of this representation of the hospitality accorded by Logis.
The hole itself is surprisingly basic for a Logis with no frills or even bedside tables. Sad as we were hoping to find a regular stp near the chunnel but could not recommend this under any circumstances

Worst hotel visit ever

I've traveled around the world and this has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

As others have said, it is very basic and the rooms are tiny - not in itself a major problem, but you should be aware.

However when we stayed there was an official party going on in the hotel (with no prior warning given) that is going on until 3am. The floors were shaking the music was so loud. People were staggering around the hotel with no security and no attempt to control them.

When I finally spoke to someone behind the bar (no other staff available) he refused to move me rooms and just shrugged unhelpfully.

Seriously, just don't stay here.

Very Basic and Overpriced

We holidayed at Disneyland Paris. Our children wanted to celebrate New Year in France. We booked Hotel du Beffroi based on their website and email exchange. They claimed to have hotel parking and their own restaurant. The hotel also looked great on their website. They also claimed staff spoke English which was good as although I have been learning French for 12 months with my son, I have not spoken French outside of the classroom.

Having driven up from Disney, we arrived around 6pm. I asked where we could park our car and was told the Noel Market was on and there was no parking as the public car park was being used for the market, (something I feel they should have told us at the time we booked).

The receptionist was very unhelpful and while my French got us around at Disney and on excursions out, she claimed she did not understand. As a result we turned to Google maps to find our own parking 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

When we got to the room, there was no tea making facilities and the room while clean, was very very basic, (like halls of residence at Uni). The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were like bean bags. The bathroom was clean but dated.

We asked reception about ordering breakfast, (petit dejuener) and the receptionist just kept saying no.

We tried to make a reservation for dinner and we're told the restaurant was closed over the holiday, (again something we should have been informed of at time of booking we felt)

On New Years Eve after visiting Buffalo Grill in Dunkirque we thought we would enjoy a drink at the hotel. We were told "fermme", closed.

While cleanliness is not an issue, the hotel is not "User Friendly".

In summary, hotel is clean, website is misleading, information that would have been helpful to have at time of booking such as restaurant closed on your dates and no parking nearby was not provided and reception staff are very unhelpful.

My daughter just reminded me the hotel WiFi didn't work and there was no bedside table.

Had the hotel management been honest when we emailed, we would not have stayed here.

When we saw our room, we asked if we could leave, but they said we could but not have a refund, (reception understood we want to leave OK but not the rest of my French)

Anyway, if you are looking for over priced, very basic but clean and unhelpful staff, then this is the place for you, otherwise look for something else. There is a Campanile hotel (like a travellodge), not too far away on the way to the port in Dunkirque.

Very disappointed

We stayed for 3 nights, liked the location and overall look of the hotel but disappointed that no coffee making facilities in room and they didn't make the room up on a Sunday, the restaurant was also closed on a Sunday as was most of the town so the only option was kebab and chips for dinner!
