Holiday for a chill
Shirley Oon 31/08/2017 19:08Fabulous hotel, although a tad expensive, £10 for a small can of pale ale, but beautiful location and stunning views. Food was very tasty, but not much choice, waiters were wonderful and very attentive. Room was immaculate, clean, comfortable bed and great balcony with an awning. Probably wouldn't visit this hotel again as was a little way out from the old town, although the bus service outside hotel was very good, every 15minutes.
Good prices, good service, beautifull view, basically a great hotel
DutchToeriston 31/08/2017 16:38Everything was nice, but I especially liked the bath. It was enormous and I could almost swim in it (and I am around 1.93m). I was also pleasantly suprised at the speed of things got replaced, almost felt like they refilled our room every hour!
Would also recommend the restaurant on the "T" floor, they had some really nice cocktails and it was wonderfull drinking a delicious cocktail while enjoying the view. I would also recommend the spa at the hotel, especially the after plane massage! We also used the transfer service of the hotel and that was also super nice, they were always on time and a great help.
LOVED THIS HOTEL
Beachy1997on 30/08/2017 14:52We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and were very happy with our choice. The second you arrive your luggage is swiftly taken from you and you walk through the doors of the hotel to the most beautiful panoramic view of the bay. We had a Superior Sea View Room and it was perfect. There was a little enclosed patio and an awning, although we didn't use it. The view from the room was spectacular and the sunsets were wonderful. It was absolutely immaculate and cleaned to perfection so could not be faulted. Plenty of wardrobe space too. The bathrooms were a good size and the rainwater shower was very welcome!
It was my Sister's birthday whilst we were there and the hotel gave her a gorgeous birthday cake, which was a lovely thought.
Breakfast on the verandah of the restaurant was such a lovely start to the day and the buffet offered everything you could possibly want, together with an egg station too. Service was very good and efficient.
We ate in Maslina one night (gorgeous setting) and the meal was extremely good, as was the service.
Lovely music provided by a guitarist and singer made the evening complete.
We had lunch twice in the "Snack Bar" during our stay and the food and service were really good. Sitting under the parasols in the sunshine with that beautiful view and served by delightful staff - what more could you want - make sure you are hungry as portions are much more than I would call a "snack"! We still managed to eat it all though!
The lobby bar was a great place to have a drink before or after dinner gazing out through those panorama windows!
The pool areas were really good and there was no shortage of sunbeds and all set at different levels to make great use of the landscape of the hotel. No reserving of sunbeds as happens in many hotels was a welcome change.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay and if we come back to Dubrovnik (which we all agreed we definitely would) then this would be the hotel we would choose.
For those unsure about whether to stay inside or outside of the city walls, in our opinion outside is the best. The No. 4 bus stops directly outside the hotel (in fact it turns around outside the hotel so you have it waiting for you it you time it right!). It runs every 15 minutes (precisely on time on every occasion we used it) and in 15 mins. or under you are right at the Pile Gate where everything happens. At the end of the evening you are on the bus and 15 mins. later back in the serenity of your hotel and away from the busy town. What is there not to like?
5* everything, especially the price
faye232on 30/08/2017 12:30This hotel is located in the ideal place, just outside Lapad Bay and 20 min bus journey into Dubrovnik Old Town. The service is second to none, the facilities are simply fantastic, the food is amazing - but the prices are completely ridiculous. Here are some tips for you: buy bottled water from the shops in Lapad Bay (8 min walk down the hill), do not pay hotel prices (£8) for two bottles!! Do not purchase ANYTHING from the mini bar, again, buy your own. Take advantage of the hotels spa facilities. We had the entire roof terrace to ourselves, sunbathing and enjoying the outdoor hot tub, then taking a quick dip in the cool indoor pool. We didn't see another person on one of the days in the spa!! We also filled 2 litre water bottles for free from the water cooler. Another tip is, go onto the main strip in Lapad Bay ASAP. There are some amazing bars and restaurants. If you eat and drink in the hotel every day you'll spend upwards of £1000 in just one week. We sat in the sunset beach bar overlooking the sea, all lit up at night, great service and spent just £8 per round for a large beer and large wine (it was over 4x this in the hotel). Go to the cafe bar it's a must (turn right onto the promenade and follow the cliff path). Finally and most importantly - DO NOT use the concrete steps going into the sea please use the roped stairs. My other half slipped on the first day and had to recieve first aid. He badly bruised his back and sliced his big toe open. I've never seen so much blood, and the hotel lifeguard casually strolled over with a bag of plasters!!! I have to say a big thank you to the wonderful housekeeping staff they are fantastic. This was the holiday of a lifetime and the hotel is wonderful. Just don't forget to venture into the bay for the day to day needs. The day trip into dubrovnik old town was simply fabulous, go on the cable car (£40) and enjoy the views. Enjoy!!
What a hotel!!
on 29/08/2017 17:36Well where to start...
From entering this hotel and seeing the stunning view to saying goodbye to the efficient and attentive staff at the end of the weeks holiday, our stay at this hotel could not be faulted.
So much choice at breakfast, great to see gluten free options too.
My sister and I chose to use the sunbathing area on the top of the hotel, so relaxing and what a view!! The indoor pool there was much warmer than the outdoor pool!
Room was great, perhaps a tad smaller than expected but then we lived on the balcony for the majority of the time.
All staff were dedicated to making your stay at the hotel as enjoyable as possible.
Used the bus to get to the old town, what a fantastic place but couldn't appreciate it fully because it was so busy even though we visited in the evening when the cruise liners had sailed away.
Just the excuse we need to return in October!!
