What People are saying

Nice pub but very tired rooms.

Chrystie01on 16/08/2017 19:26

Stayed there for 3 nights recently. Certainly not good value for money. The room was small with not much space either side of the double bed. Sadly the bed was the worst hotel bed that I had slept on in a number of years and was so old that the springs creaked and dug into you. There was no electrical outlet at the head of the bed so if you needed power close by you were out of luck. The closest socket was on the wall opposite.
The bathroom was out of the 70's with an electrical shower which would have been ok if it wasn't for the lousy water pressure. I found this odd as there was a hot water feed to the bathroom sink with good pressure. Bathroom towels were large and soft!
Walls (and doors) are very thin. You could hear people having a chat at 2.00am in the room down the corridor.
On the plus side there was a nice traditional Scottish fry-up for breakfast.

Friendly hotel

The Inn had friendly helpful staff. We ate there for dinner which was nice but not special. The room was basic . The shower was electric and you needed to switch on the power before use. The room furniture is old probably needs to be replaced. The area is very popular with tourists, with not a huge choice for accommodation, so that is probably why I did not see this as great value for money.

Wonderful food for our special occasion!

I had known about Ducks for sometime and felt it was a good choice for a wedding anniversary short break. Wow, inspired choice would be more appropriate! The food and service we experienced whilst enjoying the Tasting Menu was superb. Our host Malcolm and his daughter Michelle gave us time and attention and all the restaurant staff supported the Chef to deliver a meal of outstanding quality. The food, combinations and flavours were exquisite, with an extensive wine list and recommendations available if needed. This is fine dining of the highest quality and is supported by comfortable, traditional accommodation in beautiful surroundings.

Simply Stunning

This restaurant is worth the drive from Ascot...

Probably the best meal we have eaten in past 12 months .

It's a set tasting menu with each course memorable in its own right , but if I had to pick one dish the scallops were outstanding.

Honestly, I cant rate this place highly enough - its the classic 11 out of 10.....

Great service and a very eclectic wine list

Wish we had stayed there as well

Book now before it's too busy

Golfing trip

Friendly and good service. Excellent location for our weekend's golf - Kilspindie on the doorstep. Very good food. Tasting menu contrasts with the concept of a small hotel catering for golfers and walkers, but that is a personal view.
