It was a Hot Hot time in......
Scowboyon 11/06/2017 12:38After checking in, we went to our room. It was very warm in the room, so I turned on the AC, first on low, then on high. Nothing changed, so I went back to the desk to report that the AC unit didn't seem to be working. The clerk's response? "Not room 121! That one always works!" He called for help. Soon a young man who was probably the owner's son appeared. He, with obvious experience, pulled the cover off and started to tinker. After this failed, he called the owner, who told him to pound hard on the control dials. Viola! It started to churn out cold air, and continued to do so, until I tried to adjust the dial. Then nothing. I got up twice in the night to try to get it going again. The first attempt failed, but the second, after a couple of sweltering hours of non-sleep, succeeded, although the pounding on the dials woke my wife.
We had arranged to stay two nights. When we left for the day we left the AC unit running so we would have a cool room to return to. The maid turned it off. We came back to a sweltering room. This time a female relative of the owner was on duty, who also called the owner and attempted to get the unit running. She succeeded for a short time, but left the cover askew and the AC not putting out cold air, so we roasted most of the night. No amount of pounding helped. We left as soon as we woke up. Well, if our room was one of the more reliable available at Duffy's, I hate to think what the other rooms are like. Apparently, they don't work as well as ours!

Pammy333on 04/06/2017 01:34We are Seniors and our grandson was traveling with us. Stayed here several years ago, had no problems then, and now, it's been updated and would definitely stay here again. Clean room, flat screen TV, nice beds, and bath. Even morning coffee in the lobby!! If you don't need a pool, great for overnight stay!!
Friendly older gentleman checked us in with info on motel and surroundings, he was most helpful....
Will not stay here again
dru2013on 22/05/2017 21:28We have stayed here a few times and never had a problem. In 2016 I called and was quoted a price when we got there I was told it was a mistake and it was higher. We just stayed there May of 2017. The room was dirty along with the bedspread and sofa. They need to start a good clean up. This was our 4th visit. Our air conditioner was not working. Some one came in and said he needed to push a button. Yes it started up but stopped working after a few hours. Since this was very late nothing could be done. When I complained the next morning I was told on our next visit they would change the room for us. I told her we would never be back and they should repair it.

Cindy Lon 20/05/2017 12:56Older place nothing fancy but very clean. Carpet in room clean, a/c cold. On our way to FL, needed a place to stay on our way down. Breakfast nothing to rave again but I would definitely stay here again.

James Jon 02/05/2017 18:36Duffy motel is a great hotel to stay at. It's been along time since I felt totally comfortable in a room. The room was clean, great tv and channels, and the wifi actually worked. This is my first option in this area. You can tell they take pride in their hotel.
