What People are saying

Good stay but avoid Concierge desk if possible

homenew53on 23/08/2017 21:45

We were in an Ocean facing King Studio and we loved the room. We received towel and bed service every day. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I did not expect somebody to vacuum the room and wipe down counters every day and I cleaned up after my kids. The bed was comfortable though the linen did show some wear but was changed after a reminder call to front desk. If you have kids, this is a fun place with a pool table, shuffle board, tennis and basketball facilities. I have seen guests picking up their stuff lying on the beach without dusting off the sand or checking for unwelcome travelers, this could result in palmetto bugs being carried in. Breakfast was good but omelettes which were seasonal was missing.Daily activities were well attended and lots of fun.Overall I would recommend this resort to family with kids. We were invited to discounted tickets and shows via the lady at the concierge by attending a presentation, the worse decision of my life- I spent 6 hours instead of the informed 1-2 hours and was lured into something I did not want. Stay away if you hear Wyndham.

My stay

We stayed at dunes Village resort the last week it was a pretty good stay with the family really enjoyed it there was lots of things for the kids to do crafts rooms game rooms huge waterpark's a bar for the adults they had different activities each day for the kids it was a fairly will stain the maintenance guy Cory Cooper was amazing he helped with every question that was asked he worked almost every day that we was there so it seems as if he was always there when we needed something answered or when we needed help with other things he was very nice very polite and very helpful the only thing we didn't like about our stay was our room was not cleaned every day out of the six days that we stayedwe had to call the front desk three times to ask for someone to come clean our room or to bring us some towels it states that after the third full day of staying they would come in and do a full cleaning change she change the bed vacuum and sweep they never come to do that that would have to be my only complaint about the stay

First time stay

The hotel that my family had been staying at for years in Myrtle Beach was sold to a new company this spring, and we lost many of the benefits we used to enjoy while staying there. After exhaustive research, we decided to make Dunes Village our destination this year, and I am happy to say that it was a good choice. Our family of 5 were able to stay very comfortably in one of the Deluxe double rooms. We had plenty of room to move around without bumping into each other, and while there was a bit of wear and tear, everything worked as it should and the beds were comfortable, not saggy or lumpy. Housekeeping came by every day we were there and did a general clean of the bathrooms and left fresh towels. The pools and indoor water parks were all clean and monitored by staff, and we were so glad to have had them because of the dark, rainy, and relatively cool weather we had during our stay this year. The freshly laundered pool towels were like a slice of heaven when they were delivered fresh from the dryer. The breakfast buffet was reasonable and well stocked, even though it was a little pricey for what you get, and it's better to get there early to avoid a wait (before 9 AM). The parking deck is about a block away from the main building, but they do have a golf cart shuttle that will drive you back and forth from the main doors if you don't feel like walking. My only true complaint is that we were on the first floor right beside the public beach access parking lot, and everyone from the resort would walk over and smoke in that area, leaving the cigarette butts and smoke in their wake. It was kind of annoying, especially when the property is supposed to be smoke free. However, they were technically off property, so what can I say? I would definitely stay here again, and hope to do so next year.

Amazing but somewhat disappointed !!!!

minnie758on 20/08/2017 01:58

Beautiful resort I had a 2 bedroom penthouse suite fabulous ocean view ,indoor water park and pools for the price . as an event planner it was important for me to see the facility but didn't have the time to do so ,do to lack of time I was only allow 1 nite .this resort is great for family and groups .staff was very polite especially Ms shenee at front desk who told me to keep cking for any cancellations and house keeper Ms.Danielle was very sweet and polite but was very disappointed that I wasn't allowed to spend another nite they said it was fully book but there was reservations being done as I patiently waited for cancellations !!! I couldn't understand when other persons were walking in who told me they reserve this morning .it didn't matter if it was in another room that they would put me in .but I kept cking every several hours and that never happen .I was told there where no vacancy so had no other choice but to leave .My advice is if you decide to stay here please reserve the days you decide to stay with time so you don't get bump to the curve. And they also don't honor trip rewards,AARP,or any other rewards programs.Which as an events planner I am a member of all of them .

Third visit, likely my last

LizInNC5on 20/08/2017 00:03

I just spent 4 nights at the Dunes Village Resort with my husband and 4 boys. This is my third visit, and most likely the last time I stay here. We stayed in a three bedroom / two bath ocean view condo in the Palmetto Tower. In the past I stayed in the Palm Tower which is much cleaner / newer. The room we stayed in was spacious, and had a nice view of the beach, however it is in DIRE need of a deep cleaning. The master bath had gross mold all around the soap dish, all of the walls need to be painted, the tile in the second bath was broken and coming off in some areas ... the couch was stained. The bedding didn't fit the beds properly and was very scratchy -- in fact everything was scratchy -- the towels, the cheap toilet paper, tissues. The water park is no doubt fun for the kids, however they must dump boatloads of chemicals in there due to the high volume of people using it, so my kids eyes were burning and very red. We rented a cabana one day, which worked out well because it was extremely hot. The outside pool area is nice, and the bar is convenient. The beach access is right there and great if you have small kids.
Overall, we have enjoyed our visits here in the past because the resort is in an ideal location and the beach is beautiful. However, unless I hear they have completely redone the rooms from top to bottom, I'm not coming back.
