Everything about the hotel,the management and the surroundings was great. we were well looked after, the rooms were clean, comfortable and homely, the meals were exceptional and the hosts were pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The scenic walks, views and the location were fabulous. All in all we totally enjoyed our stay and can sum up our visit as fabulous, we would highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Carradale.

Fantastic food and a lovely comfortable room

We had a lovely couple of nights here. Alyson and Alan were brilliant, kind hosts, making us feel very welcome, despite our visit being out of season. The room was warm and cosy, and we loved the slabs of homemade shortbread left for us each day to go with our cups of tea. The food was outstanding; breakfast set us up for the whole day, and our evening meal was heavenly. Situated in stunning surroundings at the edge of the sea, the hotel is perfectly placed for visitors to explore the surrounding area.

Although we were only staying one night (and out of season) at Dunvalanree, Alan and Alison went out of their way to make our visit truly wonderful. Our beautiful room overlooked the bay at the front of the house - and the whisky and home-made shortbread in there were a much appreciated treat after our long journey from London! Despite being the only guests that night, we were treated to the most incredible meal, seafood was delicious, with wine and an after dinner single malt of course. The next morning we had a wonderful spread at breakfast too. And our slightly irritable terrier was allowed to stay in our room too. Thank you Alan and Alison for a fantastic stay, we hope we'll be back! Ingrid & Matt

Amazing food, amazing experience

An intimate 5 star dining experience. We didn't stay in the rooms, but took a group of 16 to dine, and everyone absolutely loved their dinner. The food was excellent (seafood especially so), as was the service. Our host initially caught us off guard with his ultra dry humor, but when we were up to speed with him, he made the evening a thoroughly enjoyable experience. He was very attentive - when he realized we were running late, he phoned our pre-booked taxi to let them know we would be later. Everything you would expect from a great restaurant, and a great host.

We really enjoyed our stay in this home...beautiful setting and a brisk walk over the beach on arrival.......tea coffee and shortbread in the room and a tot of whisky too.....a complimentry range Scottish soaps in the bathroom and an excellent nights sleep.......Pre dinner drinks and a superb menu served with lashings of Alans dry humour and the good company of other guests was most enjoyable. Breakfast included the best potato pancakes on our tour....would definately stay here again.........R & A
