Dated hotel in need of a renovation
TySeattleon 17/05/2017 02:02The hotel is depicted online as a sort of modern boutique hotel. First, the positives:
- Hotel staff was delightful and extremely helpful. They were the best asset this hotel has.
- The breakfast was good with lots of options, even a waffle-making machine.
- The suites were indeed spacious. Ours had a living room/dining/kitchen, a separate bedroom, and large bath with both a shower and a full tub.
- While the hotel is on a very busy four lane thoroughfare, the hotel was very quiet.
The cons:
- The room smelled bad. It was fully carpeted, which is weird for Italy as most homes and hotel rooms have tile or wood flooring. Italians consider wall-to-wall carpet to be unhygienic and dirty. In this case, it seemed to be holding odors. The other odor issue was that cigarette smoke was entering our room through the bathroom air vent.
- The modern furniture looked like it came straight out of a garage sale. And, the furniture was simply awkward - the chair and sofa in our room were so low you couldn't really sit comfortably. The dressers were long and deep and stuck out into the room. The dining chairs were extremely cheap folding plastic chairs around a lightweight plastic table. It was the sort of stuff you buy as a poor college student from a graduating senior. And, the art was just weird - parrots printed on mirrors and hung in odd places? All in all, the furniture and decorative choice made the room feel weird and uncomfortable.
- One thing that is not within the hotel's direct control, but that may bother you - there were "working girls" out on the corner nearest to the hotel both nights we were there.
We picked this hotel because it was relatively close to the two sites we wanted to visit the day of our arrival - the Centro Storico Fiat (three blocks away) and the National Car Museum (about a 30 minute walk). However, it turned out to be a long way back up towards the station to find the restaurants in San Salvario and a long way from the historic center.
I would not recommend this hotel as a tourist base.

Michel Son 15/05/2017 13:44Looking for affordable qualitative accomodation in Torino is not that evident. A lot of older infrastructure and high rates, for low quality levels. At the Duparc Contemporary Suites you feel already when you visit their website that you are at the right place. Great large rooms (50m2), design settings, sitting area, large bathroom.... TOP. The friendlyness of the staff is extreme. From the receptionist who insisted to help us with luggage into the elevator after 10pm, to the restaurant manager who managed to present us dinner even at 11pm, to the lovely breakfast ladies who make perfect cappucino's. Not to speak of the hidden gem in the cellar, a contemporary small but very relaxing spa free of usage for hotel guests. Our whippet dog accompanied us without any problem during our stay, of course not in the spa. For architecture lovers : this must have been an old office building, they stripped it all down to a very industrial look with some design new elements. Don't stay at the carfactory hotels in Lingotto (NH or AC), they offer moderate services and low architecture quality, a shame for this kind of buildings. Stay at the DU PARC :)

Bolzaneon 01/05/2017 09:04We stayed 1 night and it was almost perfect : the only negative point is that we had a misunderstanding at the reservation : I thought I did reserve a baby cot for our 1 year old, but when we arrive we didn't have one. The staff was helpful and tried to find a solution.
The rest was perfect : spacious, clean and comfortable appartment, I recommend, we would come back whenever we will be in Turin.

I am very regular customer of DuPark and I have always felt welcomed and well assisted no matter what the might be an issue: booking, checking in, use of garage or any other type of assistance. Great staff and will visit again.
