Great location
Tony Son 20/08/2017 19:09We have just come back after 2 nights at East Lyn Hotel. The welcome was friendly, the location was fantastic and the view from the room was beautiful. The room we had was large, very clean and a separate toilet and ample sized bathroom which was surprising. My only observation was the bed in our room (room 8) was sloping backwards because of the floor of the room. It felt a little weird but didn't stop me sleeping. My bug bare when I stay away is insufficient tea bags coffee and milk. Not in this case! There was plenty. All in all a great place to stay. Please try and level the bed. Thank you. We wil be back!
Superb Breakfast and a Lovely Setting
Claire Eon 14/08/2017 20:55This was our second time staying at this B&B...we visited two years ago and had such a great time in Lynmouth that we decided to come back and stay in the same place.
The B&B is perfectly located, within a 2 or 3 minute walk of the main area for pubs and restaurants.
We have stayed in room 5 and room 6 and both have lovely views of the river, and room 6 also has views of the sea.
The rooms have all of the basics such as a hairdryer, towels, bottled water and include an impressive array of teas, hot chocolate and coffee...very generous quantities too.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean. Our shower room had some mould on the ceiling but the owners (relatively new) are working their through the odd jobs that need to be done. The shower room was generally very small and damp which is my main criticism of the room.
Breakfast was superb...high quality ingredients that were cooked well.
Upon arrival, it would have been nice for the owner to have greeted us a little more warmly...perhaps just to ask how our journey had been and offer a cup of tea. We were ushered in and up to our room very quickly, albeit with a smile. Also, maybe this is a 'nice to have' rather than an essential but other B&Bs have greeted residents with a cup of tea and a freshly baked flapjack/biscuit. Many of us will have been sat in cars for a long time to reach our destination and it would be lovely to be welcomed with some refreshments to enjoy in the lovely lounge area to relax and unwind before heading up to unpack.
All in all, this is a great B&B in a great location. There's not loads to do in Lynmouth itself but this is the beauty of it for us...no pressure to do anything more than wander on the beach collecting sea glass and enjoy the local ale...we'll be back!

Great all round
deswilliamsonon 01/08/2017 19:59This place is fantastic and improving under new ownership, it will soon be THE place to stay in Lynmouth. The location on the river path allows access to the walk upstream or down to the town, harbour and beach. The new owners are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is great
