Meh
tropical1357on 20/07/2017 02:05Not terrible but certainly not great. The room was ok but our air conditioning did not work at all and we had to open the windows. That let in all the traffic noise. At 3 am some obnoxious person on a loud motorcycle had to exert their manliness and wake me. The shower had a ton of mold, disgusting. The person at the desk was very nice.
Good Basic Place To Stay
Mary0516on 15/07/2017 18:30My friend and I recently stayed at Eastside Lodge when we were in town for the Portland Blues Festival.
We did not want to spend a lot of money on a room and basically just needed a place to keep our things, a couple of beds and a shower. Eastside Lodge fit the bill.
The room we stayed in was clean but, like everyone else has said, the bathroom was dated and the handle on our faucet was temperamental.
That being said, I would definitely stay there again. The price and the location can't be beat. While we did do a lot of Ubering the time we were in Portland Eastside Lodge was within walking distance of the blues venue. It is also very near the bus stop.
The front desk help (seems to be family run) was wonderful - especially the "mom" and her son.
If you want a basic, no frills place to stay near downtown Portland this is it.
Affordable Stay In Portland
David Eon 10/07/2017 23:30The Eastside Lodge is nothing fancy, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It was a huge bonus that the parking was free and it is by far one of the more affordable places to stay while in the Portland area. Parking is self served and can be an issue if you show up late. We got in at around 11pm and we were lucky that one employee was leaving and saved the spot for us. There were 2 employees there when we checked in and they were really nice and friendly and seemed like they really enjoyed working there.
The AC was a little disappointing, but otherwise we had a pleasant one night stay. Good places to stay for visitors to the area on a budget.
Clean, Convenient - does the trick!
AdSmith28on 20/06/2017 06:01Let's be clear - this is NOT a luxury hotel but it is a pleasant one! This is a basic hotel that is affordable and provides the basics. I enjoyed this hotel because it had free parking, low cost, was VERY clean and the room I was in (211) was renovated. While the "bedspread" was dated, it was clean and I was comfortable in this room. Looking for luxury and amenities? Wrong place. Looking for a clean, convenient and affordable hotel? Bingo. To be upfront, this is not a beautiful place but it is nice. Stay on the 3rd floor (they have one elevator) as you can hear those above you walking around. Beds are comfortable but squeaky. Free wifi that isn't fast, but works, unless you want to download or watch videos. I slept perfectly with earplugs and that was on a weekend night when things tend to be louder. The staff is lovely! There are quite a few good shops and restaurants around there and the area was safe. For some reason, the typical hotel rooms in Portland were $250 - $350, so we stumbled upon this place. You will need a car as this is right across the river from Downtown Portland, about a 3-5 minute drive. Easy!
Excellent Location
Sarah Mon 02/06/2017 22:55Can't beat the location for this price. The hotel itself needs some work, the WiFi doesn't work well and the room we stayed in smelled slightly of cigarette smoke. The shower also doesn't get hot, or takes awhile to get hot. The bed was comfortable and clean, as was the room. The real selling feature is being a 20 minute walk from downtown. There is also a few cute coffee shops, cafes and pubs in the area. Definitely worth it if you're on a budget
