Dont take the room without a window

Ok, its basic, cheap and therefore perfect for a night, but the room without a window doesnt even provide a normal ventilation. Besides that it was good value, good beds and tiny bathroom. Just dont be to greedy and pay that extra bit for a room with ventilation/windows!

Designer Hotel @ reasonable rate !

Day 8 of my cycle trip from Holland to Switzerland, this was a pleasant surprise. Firstly the reception was perfect, it was no problem to "park" my bicycle behind the reception. The rooms are modern and very stylish. The only down side, there is no elevator, which could be an issue if you're not traveling lite or have tired legs after 800 km of cycling. I recomend the hotel if you want a clean room in the center of Basel.

Awful hotel, expensive at half the price!

I chose this hotel as a convenient and simple hotel - i didnt come close to how simple and damn awful this place!

The hotel has no basic features you expect in hotels: has no air conditioning, provides nothing in the rooms, not even a bloody chair! The beds are cheap and uncomfortable, the parking is half a mile away and costs 22 swiss francs per day!

Best advice i can give is spend a little more and avoid this place like the plague. It is a youth hostel and has no business claiming to be a hotel

Fit for purpose

My husband and I stayed for just one night when we went to see the Europa League Final. Everything else was either sold out or crazy prices (this was at least a third the price of anything else in the city available). The room was small, but we had no intention of staying in it- the beds are comfy (only one very thin pillow each though), the bathroom is like a plane bathroom (the whole thing molded out a plastic) but it did the job perfect. The best thing about this is the location- it is right on the Messe Platze which is one of the main tram stations with most of the trams going through. You can equally walk into the city in about 30mins. Their is a steak restaurant in the same building. We were on the third floor (top) and there is no lift- there are no ground floor rooms so people should be aware this is not disabled friendly at all. Wifi free but very hit and miss. Nowhere local to get breakfast unless you walk/tram into town. As I say, this was perfect for what we needed, but longer stays may want to look for somewhere with a bit more choice.

This hotel at 100 CHF per night is not worth to exist: a room with 1 window of a half sqm, no service at all, deposit to pay for the hairdryer, a TV with only Swiss German programmes, no English programmes, 1 plastic hanger for two people, very small room, bathroom and toilet all from plastic put in the corner of your bedroom. Your partner can hear everything coming from the bathroom. The room is only for sleeping, for the rest of the day you like to escape such a prison room. No lift, you need to use the stairs even at level 5. Don't make the same mistake as I did!
