Great value, great stay
Fertravel85on 09/08/2017 00:47If you want a quick, clean, comfy and modern stay this is a great option.
This hotel is 8 min walking form the terminal that arrives form the Airport.
Rooms are small but way better than expected. Great value, They are clean. tiny bathroom but did the job.
Overall don't hesitate to reserve it if you just need for sleep and go around the city all day.
in the heart of the city, tiny rooftop room, very helpful help desk!
Gargi Con 06/08/2017 17:45Pros: they give you fans and electric kettles on request
help desk/ reception ladies are very nice and helpful.
near the Zurich HB and main bus station. (15-20 mins walking at a regular pace)
Cons: No Elevator, 5 floors, no A/C (they have an elevator for luggage)
tiny room with a very small bath.
get take away or have your meals outside , no kitchenette
Difficult to find on your own for the first time, we took a cab from Zurich HB
Great place if you just want a place to keep your stuff and sleep.
we did that so we were fine.
The washroom had an unpleasant smell
uhamdanion 09/07/2017 12:34The room is small for 2 people and the smell from the washroom was unpleasant. When showering, water went all over the floor because the shower curtain did not reach the floor and also not wide enough. The bed was comfortable. The place is OK for a night or two if nothing else is available or if you are on a budget. There is no elevator nor A/C.
However, the basement has luggage lockers costing 5 CHF / day and one computer with free internet access. Kettle with tea bags, coffee and sugar sticks etc can be rented from the reception for 5 CHF / day.
That said, it is an easy 15 minute walk from the main train station. On Europaallee near the station there is a multi storey building with an arcade lined with shops including a Starbucks and a COOP supermarket where you can buy things to eat at a relatively reasonable price for an expensive city. There is also a COOP supermarket at the other end of the station across the river.
Better than expected!
Elizabeth Hon 05/07/2017 19:30Great location, room big enough for two. Wifi in the room included. Zurich wasn't too hot those days so I wouldn't know if it would be too warm without AC. It was so easy to get there from the train station, 15-minute walk.
Pretty good budget hotel!
Tiny attic room on a hot city night
jetsetwelshieon 28/06/2017 17:44This is a budget hotel, so fair enough, the room had a double bed (low, one thin pillow each), a shower/toilet cubicle in good working order, a window and a mirror with a couple of hooks on it that represented a place to hang clothes. It also had a tiled floor and was clean and well maintained. You could pay extra for tea and coffee facilities.
There is no lift and we were on the top floor. The receptionist helpfully offered us use of a service lift to get our heavy cases to the top - no way we could have done it otherwise. She also took great care to emphasise it was a SMALL room. She really was right to do that!
Once you put your suitcase on the bed, you could walk around the side of the bed (but only two thirds of the way around, because the roof was sloping and only a small child could stand underneath it). If you then wanted to lie on the bed, you had to block up the walking space entirely with your cases (this was a very small space). Next morning, simply opening the door and viewing the corridor outside, felt like the room had almost doubled in size!
We booked this place as a stop over because we had a late-arriving flight. That's really where its value lies and it's fine for that.........except if you happen to be staying in Zurich in the middle of a heatwave and a selfish young woman is staying in the room next door - the walls were thin so we could hear someone coughing lightly in that room. We could hear the low rumble of a man talking at a reasonable level. However, his lover (and we heard all about THAT at 3am...) made a point of shouting very loudly and slamming the bathroom door for a continuous period of 4 hours on a night when everyone on the street had their windows wide open because of the heat. Thanks to her noise, we would have had a better nights sleep on benches in the air-conditioned arrivals areas of Zurich airport.
