Never will stay at Choice Hotel again. Only good thing was TV and its channels. Not allowed to take food or drink from breakfast area which had two tables. Overall rating F.
Nice folks
Michael Son 23/04/2017 17:56The wife and I were traveling through Kentucky and stopped overnight at the EconoLodge. Our check in experience included a free smile which is always welcome after a long drive. The room we had was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are a couple of restaurants across the street including a McDonald's. We opted to go towards town and ate at OT's where we had a pretty good pizza. Checkout time was also pleasant. The person behind the counter said she had just made fresh coffee and I was welcome to take a cup with me. This was a nice place with nice people.

Checked in 8:30 PM, dropped luggage in room and headed for Kentucky Downs Casino for some fun.
Returned around 1AM. 36 deg outside. Turned on Heater, set temp midscale, and went directly to bed. Woke up at 2:15 in a pool of sweat, room was at least 90 deg inside. Temp setting rotating freely, with no effect. Finally around 4AM room & bed cooled down enough that I could get back to sleep. Got up at 8AM to get some Breakfast by 9 when it closed. Most places shut off at 10 on weekends. Checked AC unit and found there was no thermostat, just plastic knob filling hole. During checkout I handed manager(clerk) the knob and asked how could they rent a room with no working heat. Her comment was that they did not know because guests had not reported it and she was sorry.
If unit was broken, I could possibly understand that excuse. However I find very hard to believe that a guest would have taken the AC unit apart, removed the Thermostat, jumpered the wires for full heat and put it back together. Perhaps the front desk should communicate with their maintenance man about the AC status. I worked in the Temp Control field 38 years.

No Problems!
Larry Con 28/10/2016 22:41Stopped on way home from Florida fishing trip. A little expensive but it was Saturday night and lots of major events going on in the area. Room was very nice, modern bed, clean, well maintained. Internet speed was maybe a little doggy but we made it. The breakfast wasn't much so we passed it up for a drive thru at McD's.
