The Worse Hotel/Motel in America!

martyjj81on 05/08/2017 03:25

This place will live in my mind for eternity. After our Delta flight was delayed and we missed a connecting leg, my wife and I were forced to scramble to find a place for the night in Atlanta. Since we were just staying briefly, I looked for whatever was cheap and close by the airport. I've traveled around the world many times and I have stayed at some seedy places. This one takes the cake. I've never seen so many prostitutes, pimps and thugs since the 80's in New York City. It was so bad, my wife literally started to cry hysterically, begging me to escape this place. We left our stuff in the room went for a quick bite and checked out an hour later. As we left, we had to navigate our way through a gauntlet of characters drapped all over the staircase as they stared at us. So uncomfortable! Luckily the Ramada was close by and I happily paid whatever they wanted. Please do not stay here and I have request Expedia stop listing this place immediately!

Not actually excellent, but I wanted people to read this

This place is not great, but it definitely isn't terrible. If you're looking for comfort, cleanliness, peace, and quiet, you'd be much better suited getting a room as far away from here as possible. However, if you want an adequate room with a bed, sink, tv, toilet, and shower to sleep for a night or two, you can't find a better price in Atlanta.

Here's the thing: I'd wager this place doesn't get a lot of out-of-town visitors but is instead used by local transients, drug addicts, romantics, and delinquents to hook up, do drugs, and....be transient. Such clientele have, over time, managed to break, stain, smash, and smear the inside and outside of this hotel to an extreme level of grunginess. What's worse is the effect of these clients on the hotel staff, whose grim, stony demeanor betrays their inner kindness. If you walk in smiling and engage in a friendly conversation with them, they will quickly drop the sour expression once they realize you are not an average patron. These are people who are doing the best they can with a pretty rotten situation, so try to have some patience with them.

Once you get to your room, you will find a perfectly adequate bed with clean, if somewhat scratchy, sheets, a decent tv, a powerful AC unit, and a warm shower. As long as you remembered those earplugs, you are all set for a great night of sleep. If you forgot them, you may need to settle in for the night's entertainment, featuring a few visits by the police, lots of yelling, banging on doors, and occasional coital screams. So honestly, bring earplugs.

I can't vouch for the breakfast, but I can whole-heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a cheap stay for one or two nights. Places like this are what you make of them, so go into it understanding that a friendly disposition, plenty of optimism, and a sturdy set of earplugs will go a long way to make this a very adequate stay.

The worst place ever,

I thought I was in a third world country. This place is disgusting. We had no choice but to stay because after paying we saw the sign that said no refund for rooms. The room was so old and it looked like the furnitures came from a dumpster. There was puke on the floor and plenty of insects flying around. Weed smell and cigarettes smell were overwhelming. I didn't even brush my teeth or wash my face there. I didn't sleep either, I was just waiting for my truck driver husband to come get the kids and I. Please if you want something descent , run and don't look back. And we were charged $60, and to me that is so unacceptable for such a dirty disgusting room. It is even worth $5. I am outraged

Nightmare. Avoid.

I checked into my room and none of the lights worked. The bathroom was full of mold and the bathroom door had a hole.
That was not the worst part. I went to the front desk and complained about the lighting; the front desk guy said he was going to send someone to check my room's lighting. The guy came in about 10 minutes later, changed the light bulbs, and then proceeded to ask me if I was staying alone in the room. I replied "yes" and he kept asking the same thing. Then he said, "I will pay you." The guy had actually offered me money for sex.

I immediately ordered him to exit the room. I went to the front desk to report the guy, but of course, the front desk guy claimed that the guy didn't speak English. I kept arguing about it and requested a refund. He said that they could not refund anything, that I had to ask the website (Hotels.com) where I'd done the reservation for a refund. It took about 30 mins for a cab to arrive at the "hotel" so I could go somewhere else.

Thankfully I was able to at least get a refund from Hotels.com, who provided excellent service throughout this ordeal.

Save your money: this place should not even be open. I have no idea how it has 2 stars' rating. I could have been raped in this hotel; I'm happy to write this review if only to prevent anyone else from going through this ordeal.

Horrible
