Last min hotel traveling with 3 dogs

At checking in Rep was behind glass but I was stuck with 2 guys one with hospital ID. Kids also hanging outside. Rooms smell and dirty sheets with stains. Stains on ceiling and sheets. Holes in walls.

Sleep in your car

Room had a very strong smell like kerosene or some chemical. Only shut our door when away or when sleeping because of the smell and it making our eyes burn. I needed an extra towel but to get a third towel, they needed me to turn in one of the two provided towel--that's one per person. Towels were old and thin. The smoke alarm starting beeping about every 10 min indicating low battery, front desk said "they do that". Requested battery replacement. Left and came back about 10:00 pm smoke alarm now beeping every min. Front desk recommended we remove battery, did so but still beeped. Again no help from staff. We finally crawled atop furniture to reach and unwired to get the beeping to stop so we could sleep. Memorial Day weekend no vacancy found to move elsewhere. 😡😤

Nice overnight stay passing thru

We found this hotel through booking.com. The total to stay with taxes was $73. The room was updated and clean. The hotel has a small pool on the west side of the hotel, but we were too early in the season. We were told it is opened from mid-May thru October. It included a microwave and mini-frig. We found a great Mexican restaurant next door. Bonus! Great location off of I-75 and drugstores and other amenities were very close by. We may make it a point to stop here again next year.

Well...it's close to other stuff

Stayed at the Econo Lodge in Acworth, GA for an obstacle course race held in nearby Dallas, GA (Savage Race-highly recommend you try one!!). Upon check-in the lobby/breakfast area had a sort of "not clean" feel to it. Nothing inherently gross, just not that oddly inviting "clean" sensation you get in most hotels. Only stayed one night and was given a late checkout so I could grab a (much needed) warm shower after my race. Even that was only provided after it was confirmed I was a "Choice Hotels" member. Odd since I doubt they've been heavily booked, but whatever works.

All doors are exterior facing, which should have been the first clue. The property looks like an aged hotel from the 1950s was refaced and propped up as a modern roadside crash pad. The room itself was "ok" at best. Carpeting looked newer but had a hole worn in it (maybe from a pet?), furnishings seemed cobbled together from a hotel/motel garage sale. Other fun discoveries were the switch for the heat lamp in the bathroom looking like something off of Fear Factor-go ahead, turn it on...we DARE you! And the door seemed to have been pushed in at some point, which wouldn't have been difficult since it seemed to have been re-purposed from an ancient double-wide trailer home. If I were with my wife and/or children there's no way we would have stayed. As I was solo, I checked the bed to ensure clean sheets, and figured I could make due for one night. Plus after driving 10+hrs and needing sleep, it was easier to stay than deal with changing locations.

If I were still traveling with a band or em route to Spring Break with a bunch of college aged buddies, this would be fine. For the price, however, it wasn't. The rate should be no more than $50/night. The bonus is that it's close to I-75, there are lots of dining options nearby, and plenty of other places to earn your overnight stay as well.

Ragged room

Where to start. Booked a smoke free room and the carpet and blanket had cigarette burns. Mystery stains everywhere, cracks all over the ceiling, 2 lamps didnt work, smoke detector was on the table, light cover was falling off, ceiling had a hole where a light used to be and the ceiling was falling apart, and had huge cobwebs in the shower. Worst looking room i have ever stayed in. Put the "change bed linens" card on the bed cause the looked horrible with burn marks and various stains...came back that night and had the same bed linens still on the bed. Didnt even want to touch anything.
