michaelz789oon 08/06/2017 23:54We spent three nights at this motel, which is also called the Alcala Motor Lodge in some publications.
It is an older style "motel" but very comfortable, clean and has very comfortable furnishings and beds.
Our room was on the ground floor and although it is on a main road and close to the university there was no traffic noise.
We appreciated the large bed/sitting room, in our experience this is probably the only accommodation that we have had that if you wish to watch tv or read a book you don't have to sit or lay on the bed to do it.
We also made use of the well fitted out kitchen/dining area.
We had a rental car and it was only a few minutes drive to the centre of the city.
Very Comfortable Motel
BarrellRideron 11/05/2017 20:34Our room upstairs was very spacious, with a staircase leading upstairs to another couple of single beds. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were perfect! Very well kitted out with everything you'd need. This place has character from the Spanish design to the upstairs sleeping area, giving the room added space. Check in was pleasant and staff friendly. Very reasonable room rate, easy walking distance to the Octagon and shops, the University and Cadburys. Convenient 24 hour shop across the road that sells wine/beer as well. Love to come back again!
Step Back To The 70's...
NesianStyleon 01/04/2017 03:42Not sure when this was built but it did seem like entering a time capsule with the stained red circle windows in the bathroom to the oval doors in the kitchen. Everything seems dated BUT in a good kind of way. We actually really enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen huge. The bed was comfortable and sky tv and wifi made it really enjoyable. It's unique. Negatives would be the road noise (uni students I imagine) and parking is tight and sparse. A 24 hr shop is basically across the road which is handy. Friendly front office people as well. We would stay there again without any problems.

This place was perfect, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable.
The staff and management went out of their way to assist, even washing and drying some sports gear for us, as well as extending one of the rooms to enable a later check out.
Yes, this property is not new, but the pricing reflects that, and the rooms and facilities are good. Free wifi (and decent speed as well), shows they know what the need to offer the market.
Would definitely recommend and we'll be back for sure.

Barbaravaardton 19/03/2017 21:03What a great place to stay at. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms large and comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom areas were well appionted.
Coffee, tea, hot choc and milk supplied daily. Double glacing on all windows is great not only for room temperature control but for noise reduction from the city. Electric blankets, heaters, loads of hot water to bath/ shower. Thanks for a great stay.
