Quiet budget hotel close to Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls

Quiet location and just about a ten-minute drive to the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls shopping mall. Checking in was quick. The room we stayed in was clean and in order. Wi-Fi connectivity was good. The reception lobby was presentable and had a little souvenirs section. The breakfast which was included in the hotel fee, was very good.

We arrived on a week day and got a good price and we were not expecting much. We had 5 rooms, all were good, and two of them had nice new laminate floors. Heated outdoor pool was small but great for a quick dip or longer. Area did not look nice, but it was fine. Close to a good shopping mall, and the shuttle to the falls at night was good too. Will do it again.

There are some very mercurial things to say. First, the outside is nice as there are upgrades in progress. Our room, the biggest one they offer, had a Keurig, fridge and microwave...all new, clean and neat. I like that pool and play areas are available to families until late...even after 10pm. Other things that were not as positive: the carpet is heavily soiled and needs to be cleaned. The breakfast area is undersized and would benefit from a few family size tables. Also, adding protein to the breakfast choices would improve the morning offerings. The staff is remarkable. Each person with whom we interacted went above and beyond to help. At first I was hesitant about the location but found that ultimately I preferred being away from the downtown area.

The room was very nice and clean. The housekeeping was wonderful--I tipped and I have never felt the need to before. The breakfast was good but crowded and not nearly enough seating. The pool was warm, the shuttle was convenient & staff very nice. The only thing I would change was that the metal stairs need repair and I almost fell on my face when my shoe got caught walking down them.

Credit Card blockage issue

We stayed at the hotel for 2 days, from 9 July 2017 to 11 July 2017. Being on a budget, it was a good find as they had a free trolley service to Niagara falls. Although we paid for the service in cash we were told they need a credit card for security. I handed my credit card and without informing me $200 was blocked on my card. When I inquired about the amount, they said it was blocked for security and will be unblocked once the stay is complete.

2 days after the stay (13 July) the money was not deposited back. I contacted the hotel and they informed me it takes from 48 to 72 hours for the amount to be deposited back so I waited. 72 hours later, the money was still not returned/unblocked

Today marks 8 days from the day I checked out and the money has still not been returned. What a rip off.

If you do plan to stay with them, do so but make sure you dont use your credit card for security or your stay at the 2 star hotel will cost you equal to that of a 4 star, which could be walking distance from the falls.
