Disappointing stay

The hotel room was filthy, I was afraid to take a shower. The pool was closed when booking they said it was open. The staff was not at accommodating or friendly.
Stay away folks, enter at your own risk. Go up another city and grab a hotel there, I will never stay here or an econo lodge again. There are no standards of cleanliness or hospitality.

needs some updating

this economy lodge does need updating I found a soda bottle under the bed from previous person I would said the last time it was update was 2003 or 1997 the year it was built as a holiday inn other wise the WiFi works great the guy front decks was nice the property has great bones just needs to be update and needs to pay more attention to cleaning and it would be amazing hotel I'm being nice about the rating .

dirty, nasty. continental breakfast means stale bread, half frozen Danish (3 total), cheap oj. Smoke detector in room on ceiling wrapped in cellophane. great they can find my smoke filled body on the floor in case of a fire.

Needs to be closed down!

This place is not only outdated but it's filthy! I have never seen a place so unkempt. The toilet and shower hadn't been touched, refrigerator was gross. I do not recommend this place to anyone! Do not be fooled by false pictures online of this place.

CHOICE Hotels, Really? Don't stay here if you have a choice. OLD, DIRTY & DISGUSTING!

Driving from St. Paul, MN to Tampa, FL. Left St. Paul at 5:30 AM. By passed a few small towns in Southern Illinois and Paducah, KY with the intent to make it to Nashville, TN. Getting late in the evening, I was very tired and felt it a bit unsafe to drive much further. My wife and I routinely select CHOICE Hotels for lodging. Saw that there was an Econo Lodge in Cadiz, KY and decided to stop for there for the night. The receptionist at the from desk was a bit scary. The letters "F-E-A-R" were tattooed across her knuckles. I checked in was given a room key and told our room was near the back side door. At 1st glance, the building and decor appeared to be worn and out dated. We I attempted to use the room key to gain access to the back door. I quickly realized that I didn't need it as security card reader didn't work. The back door didn't lock, wires cut. Once we entered our room, I was shocked to see the material condition and the appearance of the room. The bathroom faucet was absolutely disgusting. It was heavily corroded and should have been replaced. You wouldn't want to take a bath as the tub was dirty. I expected to at least be able to take a good shower. The best I could get was luke warn water and very little water pressure. It was so low, I could have urinated harder than than. The sofa/love seat had holes in it, the carpet was severely worn. With the exception of the A/C unit, the entire room and furnishings were in desperate need of upgrades, replacement or repair. If I hadn't been so tired, we would have immediately left and headed further down the road. When we woke up and departed the Hotel, we felt a bit dirty as if we had been sleeping in a dive or dump. Would NEVER stay there again or NEVER RECOMMEND this Hotel to anybody! Hard to believe that the Econo Lodge in Cadiz, KY is affiliated with CHOICE Hotels. Makes me wonder if CHOICE Hotels has a list of prerequisites that an establishment must meet or maintain in order to be a CHOICE Hotel. Apparently Not! Do Yourself a favor and keep on driving!
