Place is in dis-repair
pblattimore60on 05/06/2017 17:03We stayed in an econo lodge in Washington dc and was very pleased with it, so we were looking forward to staying at the same company motel in Albuquerque. What a let down, holes in the ceiling in the bathroom, the door to the room had at least a half centre metre gap to the outside which will let insects and pests in. Wi Fi does not work, the only positive thing about the hotel is the staff, friendly and helpful
Thank you for the professionalism!
Tim Kon 02/05/2017 23:40My wife and I stayed here and arrived late at night. The front desk clerk, Francisco, was a great help in our time of trouble. We stayed 2 nights in a nice king room that really helped us recover in our vacation.
Inexpensive safe hotel off I-25/40 near downtown Albuquerque
Carmela Lon 18/04/2017 19:06The desk staff were helpful and courteous, especially Jacob and Denise; my first floor room was clean, quiet and comfortable although well-worn and dated; the parking lot is very well-lit; and the ABQ Ride stop for the Route 66 Central Avenue bus is right at the hotel with $2 all-day passes for cheap rides to downtown and Old Town. Central Avenue is under construction scheduled through summer 2017 so it's noisy during the day but this major artery is torn up from UNM through downtown through Old Town so there's no escaping it in that area. The complimentary breakfast is minimal compared to other Choice Hotels - essentially cereal, toast & tiny commercial muffins, with no hot food other than make-your-own waffles (which were really good). No nearby breakfast options but the Whole Hog Cafe is just steps away with amazing barbeque for lunch and dinner plus many restaurants within walking distance of several blocks.
A worthwhile sleep!
amberm367on 21/03/2017 05:39My family and I came up from the southern part of NM for a family medical emergency and needed a place close to Lovelace Medical Center. What we got was Econo Lodge Downtown a few blocks away and it made our lives easier. The rooms are clean, stocked with a mini fridge, microwave, coffeepot and hairdryer (thank goodness because I had forgotten mine). The beds, as I have found with all Choice Hotels, are so comfortable which was wonderful after spending an entire day at the hospital. The WiFi connection worked great, there was variety with Direct TV. We were able to get a 'hospital' discount on the rooms but still regular prices are more than reasonable.
Only issues we encountered were with the shower and the road construction. The nozzles are very low as is the water pressure, but the nozzle is adjustable which did help when it was changed to the jet. As for the road, it's not the hotel's fault (Albuquerque always has road construction), however it was a bit difficult to deal withe at times. Just be aware when staying there.
Overall, we were extremely impressed with the hotel. They have a wonderful staff, especially Robert and Bob, who were very helpful in making sure we had our rooms. It was nice to come back to the rooms after a long, tiring day at the hospital and know we could just relax. We will be back and are proudly recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Thank you for making a difficult trip a bit easier!
Good Value for the Money
Anky Hon 17/03/2017 17:27Standard motel with good value for the money and hot breakfast. Big clean room with tv, bath tub and coffee machine. Walkable distance to many restaurants and bars along central avenue. Only lowlight was the receptionist, was not exactly friendly.
