What People are saying

Cheap but won't be back

loudog007on 18/07/2017 06:05

Travelling through on our way back to Canada. We stopped around midnight wanting a room to sleep for a few hours before hitting back the road. We had been looking for a room for a an hour and since my wife worked in a Confort Inn before and EconoLodge is part of the same company, we thought that the standards would be as high as in Canada. Boy, we were wrong. Although the motel is going through major renovations, the rooms have not been touched yet. We rented two rooms and we were very dissapointed. The bathroom was dirty, the bath discusting and the carpet smelled bad and was dirty with some paint spots. My mattress was awful and I felt like I was in the hospital with my legs up in the air the whole night. We slept a few hours, had breakfast and got out of there in a hurry. At least, breakfast was nice but no place to sit down. Never again...

Won't be back

Hubby and I stayed 1 night in June on a 12 day motorcycle trip through the States. Hotel is in the midst of a badly needed reno. Location is good - right off the highway.
Breakfast was adequate. Room was large. Hallways had a smoky smell and our room had a musty smell. Really didn't want to walk barefoot on the carpet in our room at all. Room was dark and outdated. Will never stay in an Econolodge again - stayed in two during out trip and both were the worst hotels out of all the places we stayed. My advice - pay a little more and get a better hotel.

Not as advertized

We got to this place after dark. This place is the reason we always try to be in the motel room before the sun goes down. The darkness tends to hide things and this was the case here. This place still advertises their pool, but it's long gone. The room was OK, but the halls had a mixed odor of sanitizer and mildew. They advertise free breakfast, but after walking to the little room that it was in, we had a cup of coffee, then left. Just not much to choose from. Not even worth the lower rate. During our July 4th weekend we stayed in a different place every night and this was; by far; the worse.

Perfectly adequate

Great location, right off the highway. Ample parking and we were located on the ground floor. The air conditioning worked and we didn't hear any noise from the highway.

Our rate of just over $50/night included a typical continental breakfast. The selection was moderate but adequate. Overall, happy with the value we received.

We had chosen this place for family/friends, coming to Binghamton, for my daughters Graduation. What a huge disappointment ! Place was disgusting. The first room should have been condemned. Beds were old, very unclean. Carpet very old, very stained with spots of stuff that looked like blood. Two chairs had cigarette burns, and very stained. The door to back parking lot was broken, did not even need a card to enter building. The whole place smelled like cigarettes, and a strong skunk smell. After approaching the front desk, the ladies were able to get us, a little cleaner room towards the front of the place. Bed seemed to be clean. The bathroom was old, burns on floor, sink, tub, and toilet. Huge cracks, and chips in tub, no one wanted to shower. We used my daughters small apartment to shower and get ready for graduation. (no rooms available for us, anywhere. BIG grad weekend) They noted that they are under repairs, this place needs to be gutted, cleaned, and new furniture. I can continue, about the dirty, run down, property. We travel often, and have never stayed at a place this run down, and dirty. Smoking should not be allowed in a Hotel/Motel. Our second night, we had to call front desk, due to a couple having a loud argument. A man showed up with in minutes to calm them down, promising to send Police next time they received complaints. Shame on the owners ! I do have to say, the two ladies at front desk, tried to accommodate us, and were kind. They seemed shocked with our findings, but they should take a look at these rooms, they would understand. Very disappointed, this is a known Hotel Chain, and should have a better sense of pride.
