Better then I expected, would recommend
Bee_Keeper_05on 08/05/2017 03:31I read the reviews and decided to roll the dice. I flew into Boston late and needed a place for one night. I priced hotels and wow the prices are crazy high. So it looked like the reviews are half bad and half good on this one. The hotel was 7 miles from the airport. The hotel is nothing fancy but the room was clean and comfortable. There were no funny smells once you were in the room. The reason I say inside the room because there was a odd smell outside, but the rooms open to the outside (kind of). I just think the city just stinks so not the hotels fault. I would recommend this hotel for being clean, affordable, location, and comfortable.
I am not recommending it for its breakfast, go ahead and count that out. Although the coffee was not bad.
If your looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel go pay $200 to $300.00 down the street.
Happy travels
GARBAGE!!!! UNSAFE!!!!
r0mym132on 01/05/2017 01:38This place is awful!!!! Please do yourself a favor and listen to this review because this is the truth and this place is terrible. I landed into Logan International Airport around 2am and called to confirm I was on my way. The man that answered the phone seemed irritated that I called that late, as if I woke him up from his sleep. He was not pleasant with me at all. He repeatedly asked me what time I would be getting there and I explained to him that I wasn't sure because I wasn't from the area and I still needed to get my car rental. It's almost as if he wanted to know to make sure he was awake when I got there. My husband and I walk into the lobby and it's freezing cold in there and it has a stench like cat pee in it. There is a guy behind the plexiglass which I know wasn't the man I spoke to on the phone. He seemed a little more pleasant.
We get our key cards and make our way to the room. Picture section 8 housing because this is exactly what it feels like in this hot mess of a place. The air conditioning was on max and I was still hot in the room. I found dead bugs in the bed!!! The hot water gets turned off at night and the refrigerator was lukewarm at best. No iron in the room and no blowdryer. When asked if they have an ice machine they said "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't"...aka the ice machine doesn't work. This is not the worst part about this place though!!
PLEASE READ THIS!!!
My husband and I left for 6 Flags and when we returned our window was pushed in. The room next door was completely wide open and it looked extremely sketchy. We told the man at the front desk and he seemed irritated that he had to check what happened. He then says that someone must have pushed the window in. I asked for him to explain to me why someone would push the window in (other than wanting to break in) and he quickly changed his reasoning. He said that it must have fallen on it's own. The window slides in so there is no way it fell on it's own. I told him I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. And he shrugged it off and said this was nothing. He puts the window back in but upside down so now the window is not shut all the way. I asked him "so this is your solution?" and he said "yes" and walked away. I stood there in complete disgust that this hotel truly does not care for the safety of their guests. I ended up leaving the hotel at 11pm at night and had to pay for another hotel room. He never offered to reimburse me, never offered at least another room. NEVER EVER WILL I STAY AT ECONOLODGE AGAIN! And I will make sure I let everyone I know about this experience.
GARBAGE
ecage3on 01/05/2017 01:33I would have given 0 stars if i could have. the customer service was awful from the confirmation call when the guy acted annoyed that we called to say we were on our way. it is a non smoking hotel and our room smelled like someone had smoked 2 packs a day in it. the AC and the fridge didn't work. they have one hairdryer in the ENTIRE building. we came back at 11pm after visiting six flags all day and our window was pushed in. we told the guy at the front desk and he first said someone pushed it in, we asked why would someone do that, he then changed his story to it must have fallen, we asked how and he said sorry and left. We dont ask for a lot in a hotel but safety and comfort is a minimum. needless to say we left that same night and found a different hotel, and ended up having to pay for 2 hotels for our last 2 nights. but it was worth it to be out of this DUMP. i would not recommend anyone to ever stay at this hotel, even my most hated enemy
Cheap
Christopher Lon 11/12/2016 01:20We were flying out of Boston after a trip to Maine and the hotels near the airport was ridiculously high so thought we'd give this place a try. The outside area appeared to be sketchy at night and upon entering the motel and seeing the clerk behind a bulletproof glass enclosure, it did give us some second thoughts about our choice, but it was late and we had an early flight to catch the next day.
The room was in need of updating/repairs but otherwise clean. The lights on one side of the bed did not work and the other side sometimes. The sink had a big crack from one side to the other and you could see where it had been repaired. The room was near the road so it was noisy but overall not too much noise from the other rooms (we were downstairs).
The Continental breakfast was actually not too bad and the staff were friendly. It has a small fridge and microwave which was nice but we didn't use either.
In summary, if you are looking for a basic 2-star motel for a brief period of time this is a viable option for the price. If you are looking for a place while staying for a few days, I'd look elsewhere.
AWFUL
David Con 18/11/2016 14:09They changed my reservation for 3 weeks to 2 days and wouldn't accommodate me with anything. I do not recommend this stay to my worst enemy. Its rundown in the middle of bad side of town no parking and extremely rude works.
