What People are saying

Nice Surprise

Schlieckauon 15/08/2017 19:26

Very spacious room, clean and quiet. Haven't stayed at a Howard Johnson's in many years. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. Also had a big flat screen TV. But for me, the bed was too hard. Besides that, a nice place to stop and stay.

Passing through

Stayed here for 1 night on my way north and got exactly what I wanted: a clean and quiet room. The pool was an added bonus, as was the Mexican restaurant next door, and the ice cream shop across the street.

Disappointed

First off If there was a "newly remodeled" situation....we could not see it. Maybe it was the outside paint job? We'd chosen a King Suite for the extra space. Check-in was ok. Room had a faint bit of a "pet" (urine) smell near the window covering, but not too bad.
The management certainly do not care about the property as evident...No weather stripping around the door, sloppy patches and paint. The bath tub had the residue of the original sticker, about 6x6 inches, still on it. Does any one not remove that as soon as you remove the sticker? 'Nough said.
The fist night we had a little thunderstorm after mid-night. I was awoken by the sound of water dripping. We found a water leak at one corner of the room and put the ice bucket under it. In the morning we noticed that the leak was not a new thing...we noticed what looked like mold on that area on the ceiling. After bringing it to the attention to hausekeeping and front desk manager they seemed surprised. Amongst them they were wondering if there is more rain in the forecast...as if they thought that its ok to be in that room if it's not raining. I insisted to be moved. They gave us a new room without any "sorry for the inconvenience." Everthing else about this "Lodge" is below average for sure, and we would not be back nor recommend it to friend/family.

Well..

It's a quiet, pretty good continental breakfast. When we checked in the front desk lady was not very friendly and acted like we were an inconvenience checking her phone while checking us in. The hotel staff Friday and Saturday were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is old but should be no reason why the walls are dirty. You can also see daylight through the room door. The tv was great and they have direct tv with movie channels. The fridge is big and there is a microwave. Furniture is mix match. Air conditioner works great although it is loud and woke me up when it turned on and off all night. Needless to say it was not terrible, the price is not bad and it is close to restaurants. Also as another suggestion, in case management actually reads these, a bag for your guests dirty clothes would be nice as well as clean the walls.

Not a bad stay

Room was decent. Checked in and went to our room that was already occupied. Got a new room. No complaints on cleanliness or comfort. If you plan on having visitors, that is not allowed. Would recommend if you don't have extravagant expectations.
