Rude!
Rachel Gon 13/03/2016 06:41We needed a room for the night and stopped here. Noone was at the front desk although the open sign was turned on and there were obviously rooms available for the night. We had to Google the number to the hotel to even talk to someone, who then had to pass the phone off to someone else because she didn't speak English. The next woman barely spoke English and told us they didn't have any rooms available. They need to post a no vacancy sign and at least have someone available in the office for assistance.
Easily the worst managed hotel ever!
David Gon 12/07/2014 14:24The hotel management obviously changed from our last visit. The hotel manager was rude, and wouldn't issue any extra room keys to our party - and we had multiple families staying here. The pool was closed early and everyone was told to leave. room keys were pre- coded so if someone kept their key most likely they could enter your room. Towels were limited to two per room and had a sand paper like finish. I guess we should have known, by the price, that the quality would be seriously lagging. Next time I would stay in TexArkana and drive into DeQueen. Don't stay here it just isn't worth it,
Best $50 room ever
rivernan0on 14/10/2013 18:00What a great deal! Now, for $50, don't expect a Hilton, and remember that the price those little bottles of shampoo, in other hotels, are included in the price of your room. If you want a clean, comfortable room, with very nice and accommodating staff, you cannot beat the Economy Inn. I have stayed here for years, coming into town for an annual event. The owners have worked hard remodeling all of the rooms, the mattresses are new, there's a fridge and microwave in the room, and the towels are nice and fluffy. I will definitely stay here again!
Great for an independent hotel
85worldtraveleron 08/09/2012 19:46I recently just came down to Ashdown to visit my sister and needed a place to stay. I decided to try out the Economy Inn and asked to look at their rooms. At first glance, the room appeared really nice. They had a flat screen tv, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, iron and ironing board and the room appeared to be newly remodeled due to the new style of the couch, curtains, and bedspread. The owners were really nice too. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay in Ashdown.
I will never stay here again!
littlestarprincesson 28/07/2012 20:07Needed to stay in Ashdown for a fishing tournament. Next time, I will stay 15 miles away in Texarkana- it would be worth the fuel and drive. Economy Inn seemed the most decent of the lodging options in Ashdown. If it had not been so late and if I had not been so tired, I would and should have got my money back and driven to Texarkana. At first glance, the room appeared decent at best. It had an awful smell (kind of similar to a wet dog). No shampoo. You get a tiny piece of bar soap. The room key I received had an advertisement on it for Domino's pizza. I called them to place an order and apparently they are a few hundred miles away in Waco, TX. After looking at the room key we were given, it appears that Economy Inn got the keys from another hotel. The pizza place said they've gotten a few calls from patrons at this place. I searched for a phone book to look for a local pizza place (which none deliver by the way) and found the phone book in a drawer. Next to it was the Holy Bible with three condoms laying on top of it. The fridge smells sour. It's just all around nasty. Couldn't wait to get out of there and take a boiling shower! Ewww!
