Lovely friendly hotel with a fab pool

effingpoton 24/07/2017 12:07

We enjoyed our week at the Eden Hotel. The rooms are simple but clean, a little tatty in places and with three of us was a bit crowded but it was fine for this type of hotel. The pool area is lovely, the bar not used much and the village just walking distance away. Looking around the village I could not see anywhere else I'd rather have stayed. There is parking and WIFI too (parking is hard in the middle of Afitos so that helped a lot). If you use Google maps to find the place when driving from the airport - be aware that the "new road" is not well known to google, neither is the old road! You may pass the Afitos sign as you whizz past the junction but keep going and go left at the big roundabout. If you do hit the signpost and exit correctly, google shows the coast road as closed - it's not! Just keep going :-)
Lovely village and nice hotel with a lovely, helpful and friendly owner and staff. Defo recommend a stay.

Best hotel in Greece!!

If you want an authentic greek experience in a truly greek hotel, come here! Service was fantastic, Katarina (the owner) was lovely and she came out and had a drink with us sometimes. 100% best stay in Greece, the village is so amazing and authentic. Best fish restauraunts around as well. Will definately be coming back.

Crash out in Afitos

Gpoolon 09/10/2016 10:19

The Eden Hotel is well situated in the centre of Afitos sited near the square surrounded by tavernas. The staff are very friendly and have good English . Breakfast is served at the poolside and is continental. The hotel downside is it is not friendly for children and the infirm as is the whole resort. The pool is deep and access in and out for non swimmers is difficult there is also some steps which have no rails. The few children bit can be seen as a positive. For a crash out holiday for adults it's ideal there are ample good quality beds round the pool with adequate shade. The beach is a twenty min walk and down 200 steps facilities are good excellent beds shade toilets and a clear clean sea. Beds are free if you use the beach tavernas which are good we had all day beach days lunching locally. All in all a good restful location I feel we were a likely late in the season better early sept not due to weather but it is approaching season end and the tourists are getting sparse still all open but closing in October. The transfer is not bad there is little locally for a must visit but plenty for two weeks. Accommodation is good we had a two room unit with a kitchen unit adequate for small meals but why bother when surrounded by tavernas of good quality even if they all seem to operate the same menu at similar price go for ambience.

Average hotel stay

The hotel was clean and very centrally located in the small town of Afytos. The breakfast served every morning is quite good for the amount of money you pay for it (5€) given the fact that it's hard to find proper breakfast (except from fyllo pastry) in the area. However, the rooms need maintenance as the water flow in the douche is very low, the lights don't always work, the TV was not working and the bathtub had no curtain that resulted the water to go all over the place when you were using it. The wifi of the hotel was not working in the rooms at all but only in some parts of the common area close to reception where the router was placed. The personnel was very polite, but I must say a bit unorganised as I was waiting more than two hours to get inside my room due to the fact that there was only one cleaning lady that was trying hard to finish everything. The plus is that thy offer you free drinks as you are waiting. Generally, it is an average hotel (a bit pricey for what offers) with good prospects as long as a small renovation is done.

Good location, helpful staff, poor wifi

TeessideMagon 21/07/2016 15:18

Afitos is a lovely old village, and the hotel is in a nice quiet location, while still handy for everything. The room was a good size, and cleaned thoroughly every day. The pool is great, a good size for a relatively small hotel. My only real gripe would the wifi, which was dreadful and unreliable BUT in fairness this was an issue in all three hotels we stopped in, so it may be a Greece issue rather than a Hotel Eden issue!
