Hi, I had stayed in this place on the 6th of may 2017, i was given a room above the office room, (room # 3), the room was stinking, the AC was not working at all, i had complained to the officials there they said it will cool slowly,but it didnot happen at all,

The swimming pool was very very dirty,

the worst part is the food, the menu card in the room has different rate than the billed rate, fridrice in the menu is 120 but i was charged 160

over all a total waste of money.

The resort lies about 20 km outside Thrissur on a reservoir that is nearly empty at the time of my visit. There are many buildings in the complex, among them a restaurant, two open meeting halls and some tent like buildings, should the resort be full. During the week I stayed there I was the only guest more often than not. The first night I was given a cell phone with a number to call, then the managers said Good Night and I was alone. Quite an interesting experience. You can walk to another reservoir which is smaller but has more water or you can rent a car with driver to go to two quite impressive waterfalls, about two hours away. The bed in my room was very good, whereas the fittings in the bathroom have definitely seen better days. The food consisted of vegetable curries, which were served for breakfast and dinner. It was quite tasty once I had persuaded the cook to put more spices in. So if you like a solitary place in the middle of nature, you will feel happy there. All the people at the resort were nice and helpful.

A calm resort in the rural ambience of Kerala

Eden Valley Lake View resort was earlier called Eden Valley Country Resort.

It is a sprawling, lush green resort set on the banks of the reservoir of Pathazhakundu dam, a few kilometres off the Thrissur-Wadakkancheri stretch of State Highway 22 and about 12 KM from Thrissur (Trichur) town. The road to the resort is good and winds through villages. When we visited the resort on Christmas, the water level in the reservoir was very low; we were told that boat rides are available when the reservoir is full. Even at the time of our visit, there was boating just a few kilometres away, at another part of the same reservoir. The resort has ample open area full of trees and garden plants. The grounds slope down to the lake. On the whole a very scenic place. Eden Valley has proper air conditioned rooms and tents. Cars are parked on the winding, sloping roads within the resort. Cheppara, a hillock comprising a single large 500m long rock, is just a kilometre away (we did not visit it); Cheppara has a cave too - its antiquity and purpose are not clear. There is another dam, Poomala dam, just a few KM away.

Eden Valley resort has a well maintained swimming pool (wading pool, not deep) that is not very large. We were a large party of about 20 including children and spent an enjoyable day at Eden Valley. We had ordered lunch, which was good. Our lunch was set up exclusively for us in a covered dining area. We had also booked a room to change before and after swimming and to just relax if anyone so wished. In the event, no one rested in the room, but a few relaxed on the long verandah and on the lawns. The resort offers Ayurvedic spa services, though we did not avail of them. Occupancy was low at the time, perhaps because it was Christmas; but there were other people on a day out like us.

If you live at Thrissur or stay there for a few days on a Kerala tour (Thrissur is a good hub to visit many places like Guruvayur temple and Athirapilly water falls), a day-visit to Poomala and Eden Valley resort is in order. One may even start after lunch and spend the afternoon at the resort. In other words, while it is not worth travelling long distances only to visit this place, it is a good place for a day out if one is in or near Thrissur or nearby. Of course, Eden Valley Lake View Resort is also a good place to relax for a few days, away from cities and towns.

Stayed in this resort with friends for 1 night. Don't expect a luxurious resort. But it is located in front of poomala reservoir which is approachable by walk from the resort. They got a small outdoor pool and a treehouse too. Food was okay though nothing great. Advisable for a relaxed stay in budget.

No-no for friends trip..

I first would like to admit that i have not been to the hotel but wanted to warn users about their arrogance which was previously mentioned in one review. We were a group of 5 guys. I called up the place. They were rude in their behavior and declined rooms telling we don't give rooms to people other than for couples/ family.
I really don't recommend this hotel and warn you about the arrogant attitude of the people there.
