Just returned from 2 week stay at efrosini. We are family of 4, 2 daughters 11 & 15. This really is a fabulous location, very peaceful. Rita & Kotis very friendly and the bar is open every day until late. Good quality snacks & drinks, very good prices. The pool is large and very well maintained. The rooms are spacious, though amenities basic for self catering purposes, which we always do. It is very convenient for the nearby beach, and great tavernas.
However it really could be so much better here with a few improvements, obviously they would need to be charging a bit more.
The beds are the hardest and most uncomfortable that we have ever experienced, over 20 years in the Greek Islands. Also in the rooms, a toaster, a few more utensils, etc would help.
The cleaning, as mentioned elsewhere is spasmodic. My wife used to sweep the floor most days herself.
The pool, which is beautiful, most days during our stay the sunbeds around the pool surround were "reserved" by 9 am using the traditional towels out method, so that we used to go to the beach instead, despite nobody actually using the pool & beds until almost midday. Afternoons can get crowded and noisy when groups of people arrive who are not residents. Whilst I fully appreciate the dilemma that Kotis faces in needing the extra revenue, the peace and comfort of guests who are staying there needs to be given more attention imo. At the very least, an expansion of the pool surround area with another dozen or so sunbeds / shades would go a long way to alleviate this.
We had a lovely holiday at the Efrosini the hotel is beautiful , rooms fabulous , and staff so welcoming .
Few things that are useful to know -
Air con -5 euros a night
Safe-free it's in the room
BBQ night- every Saturday well worth it , fabulous food worth the money
ATM- there is an ATM about 5 minutes away next to a lovely bakery
Restaurants - There are about 10 restaurants along the sea front in katelios lovely views whilst having dinner , we liked Maria's and the lighthouse best , however the katelios grill house , the garden and jerry elkino were excellent and they are on the way down to the beach
Hotel food- Excellent food around the hotel the omlettes and chips are just wow 😳
Supermarkets- there are a few mini markets with everything you will need but they are pricey , if you hire a car apparently a lot of the locals drive to Lidl for bigger shops
Self catering facilities - there is a kettle, coffee machine ,toastie maker , plates , bowls , glasses ,fridge, sink
Other facilities - a small children's park , tennis courts which are free of charge , pool bar with great selection of drinks including a fridge with cans of beers , bottles of wine ,prosecco, ale , all resonabley priced , you can either pay as you go or have a tab and pay as and when you like .
We saw a few of the other resorts after some friends kindly took us for a drive and it's well worth visiting skala, poros etc they are all equally beautiful but somehow katelios has a certain charm that brings people back year after year as it's totally unspoilt
The beach in katelios is lovely not a wide stretch of sand but it's magical you can walk around for ages in the sea and it's only knee high perfect for families , please the sun beds are free if you buy some drinks in the sea front bars
All in all a wonderful holiday and if your visiting soon you are in for a treat
Have just returned from a week holiday here with my teenagers , cannot fault it all . Appt was absolutely lovely and pool great always sun beds and so chilled out. Staff were amazing especially Rita , always happy and helpful . Katelios is a lovely little resort , totally recommend .
We just returned from a weeks stay in the lovely efrosini village and we already miss it. Our room was gorgeous we couldn't have asked for more. This was our first time staying self catering and we are so glad we picked these apartments. Everything was spotless, the room, pool area, bar and the pool toilets nothing was ever out of place. We would like to give a special mention to Rita and Fotis who worked every day during our stay, they were both friendly, approachable and great company to be around. They made our stay hassle free and comfortable. Our flight wasn't until the evening and the 'usual' check out times for most hotels/apartments is around 10am but the morning of us leaving Fotis told us we could have our room until 3pm free of charge! This was a great relief for us as it has been a very very hot week and we got the opportunity to use all our rooms facilities up until an hour before leaving. Would definitely recommend to everyone for a quiet and relaxing holiday in Greece.
I can only add to what most reviewers say: this place is welcoming, clean and well run. It offers excellent value for money and is well-placed to explore the island.
The pool bar provides a fairly basic selection of food but it is fine as there are lots of places to eat locally
