What People are saying

Cracking place!!!

Sean Ron 14/06/2017 14:50

I have only just returned back from a weekend in Brighton with a group of 11 others and stayed at Ei8ht Apartments. Myself and everyone in the group all completely loved the accommodation and its location.

I have to say I am a little confused by some of the negative reviews on here. Mark was massively helpful and was on hand during the build up to our trip to respond to any queries we had. He was also there on the day trying to get the 3 apartments ready for us to move into. Although not ready on our arrival, we were allowed to leave our bags so we could wander into town.

In terms of location it was perfect for us, just close to the famous pier and only a 10-15 walk along the always beautiful seafront into town, which also meant there was not a great deal of noise in the area at night.

The accommodation itself was more than adequate. It was clean and tidy with all of the basic utilities and utensils on hand. There is also a decent selection of supermarkets, shops and grocers in the area. The price we were offered was the best I had found for a group of our size after endless searches online. My only minor negative from our whole stay was that the shower could do with a little more pressure, but hey its a minor thing.

I would stress for anyone reading the negative reviews to take these with a pinch of salt. If you expecting shiny brass bannisters and sparkling crystal I would recommend The Grand, but if its a homely stay that is value for money and in a good location then I would recommend Ei8ht. I'll be back!!

Weekend Break in Brighton

The Hotel was super and so well priced for the quality and everything it included. The communication was excellent and the service - Spotless and well designed and most of all it was so well located to all the amenities and beach. We have decided to come back in July and just booked again. Look forward to seeing you Mark and you must join us for a glass of wine.

Sewerage

Pompeyadeleon 12/06/2017 12:04

We stayed in the basement apartment. Following initial problems of trying to contact someone regarding entry our first impressions were musky smelling and hot.
The room was compact but seemed to have everything we needed.
The real problem started when it came to using the shower room.
After having a wash I emptied the sink and was hit with a discussing smell. The shower tray (which we had not yet used) was regurgitating brown waste which smelt like sewerage.
I contacted the emergency number and was reassured that it could not be sewerage but some other waste. We were told they would take a look at it the following day (after we checked out).
Apparently you can get a valve which is fitted into the shower waste which prevents resurgence happening.
Some kind of compensation would have been nice or even someone taking a look at the problem the same evening!
I even got the impression that the problem had previously occurred as I was asked if the problem happened when I emptied the sink!
I do wonder if anyone has bothered to take a look yet.
We definitely will not be returning to Ei8ht.

Somewhat disappointed

Good:
- Location was very good as only few minutes away from seaside, pier, shops and town centre.
- The gentleman I spoke with was very helpful with the parking voucher even at last minute. Also tried to solve the issue we had with the shower door right away.
- The apartment was nice and cosy, perfect for 4 people.

Bad:
- There were still dishes in the dishwasher and these were not clean. Even the dishes in cupboard were not clean either.
- There wasn't enough towels for 4. (I know I could have called the housekeeping but as there were no reception this is not as easy as I am used to).
- The shower door was broken and quite dangerous as glass can fall off and break. I called housekeeping for this and they did try to resolve this straight away. (I would have appreciated if this was checked before people check in)
- The bed linen for the sofa bed was not that clean... I am unsure whether that was actually changed :-/ so unimpressed with this.
- Wifi was very slow.

Our stay was ok as mostly out and about but I don't think I will stay here again.

Not a bad place to stay

Hi, myself and my girlfriend found this place online whist just browsing for a nice, fairly cheap place to stay as we didn't have a massive budget, found this place and was quite happy with it, i later looked at the reviews and i saw they where fairly mixed so i was quite nervous. as we driving from cheshire so a good 5 half hours drive to brighton. i rung up a few days prior to leaving to confirm that i sorted the parking permits and the extra night that i wanted and the man on the phone said "yes all sorted" he also said that he put it all in the book so no need to worry. i was quite happy with that.

we got here after the long drive and there was no space to park. it was complete chocca on upper rock gardens so myself and my girlfriend parked on the next street i rung up the number i had for eight and they said "they had the permit for me i had to go and pick it up from the apartment building entrance" now i said to him that i needed more that one as i was staying for 4 nights, so overall i needed more, i said to him that i sorted some others out and my extra night and i was going to pay once i got here. he told me he had no record of that, but he managed to sort the problem out and we manged to get a nice parking space just a few doors down from the appartment complex.

the room was nice, small but comfortable. i cant complain. a few nights in the toilet handle snapped off so we ended up having to move rooms for my last night in brighton. that was a bit of a bother but the room we moved too was fab. i wished we had that room as it was the size i really wanted. but i cant complain that much. Thanks Eight for a nice stay. Ace Kidda. :)
