I am something of a fan of clean older motels
irhunteron 27/04/2017 00:27Well, it is a bit pricey for an older motel (90 bucks in the off season). But, I liked my stay, and will stay again. I found the staff friendly, the room clean, the bathroom was pretty big, the bed good, TV and Wifi were good, too. The room was heated with a 120 volt oil-filled space heater...but, the heater did a great job with outside temps in the 40s. The rail-trail is a block away and a good pizza place is just across the street. No breakfast or coffee.
Don't know what Customer Service IS
Kaye0698on 13/02/2017 17:04We booked last minute for my fiance during a major storm. This was through booking.com. They notified me that the booking was not completed I did and got two reservations. I contacted the hotel to tell them of the incident and they were very unreasonable. They were rude and I feel that the customer is what makes a business run. I will tell all my friends about this place and tell them that the manager is obnoxious. The room was dirty and he had to walk on towels to walk in the room.
Also, felt itchy in the bed which could have been bed bugs. DON'T STAY HERE.
Rail Trail
Mike Hon 02/10/2016 19:55First the good news. I stayed here with 3 other cyclists. We had just biked 7 1/2 hours and were grateful to have arrived. It is located only minutes from the trail. Shower was hot and wet. TV and coffee maker worked. That said it is unlikely our wives would have enjoyed the place. No heat until the owner brought a portable heater. Phone didn't work properly. You know the bottom line - you get what you pay for.
Average oldish motel
Sebastiaan Jon 02/07/2016 16:08Arrived from visiting the Canterbury Shaker Village. Even the Shakers who were not into any luxury would have found the room we got simple. No coffeemaker in the room, no coffee in the office (the next door gas station has). Clean and a good bed though.
It was a hot day, the swimming pool looked tempting, but alas, no water in it. For the same price we have had better rooms.
WHY SPEND MORE? Great price, great place, great hosts and great sleep -:)
Peter Son 06/10/2013 22:10Being in the process of moving, I stayed at Elmwood Motor Lodge for 10 days in September 2013.
If you are looking for a quaint and quiet setting with too many available TV channels and internet access, that is working very well, then you've found Elmwood Motor Lodge.
No fitness area (outdoor pool only) or on-site restaurant, though. Walk across the street, and voila, there's your restaurant. And you've done some cardio in the process.
If you're looking for low prices, not cheap, plus great sleep, quickly drive over to the Elmwood Motor Lodge. You'll be glad you did - so will your body!
Thank you
