SEC Championship

Stayed here for 2 nights during the SEC Championship. Close to everything, with a gorgeous view of the park. Staff was super friendly and room was updated and nice. Enjoyed our time here and have booked the same hotel for this year!!!

I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the venue we were attending for a concert. this hotel was perfectly located! Very close to Phillips Arena & PNC arrena. Right accross the street from the huge ferris wheel and olympic park (which was very beautiful). There was a starbucks downstairs and a ruth's chris downstairs. The hotel was tidy and we really enjoyed our stay there. The breakfast in the AM was served in Ruths Chris steakhouse. We ate at a bunch of different places that were all walking distance from our hotel. I would definately stay again!

Rooms are great, but service is poor!!!

First I'm a hilton honors member, and usually most hilton hotels, all do something special for you to remember your stay, as remembering your name occasionally or just speaking to you in the hall. This was a different experience.

1. I paid and used my points for a room facing the park. I didn't get a room facing the park and if I didn't go to the front desk to mention it, I would of never got a resolution. The resolution was acceptable, but they would of still ripped me off without telling me. They should of told me at check-in.

2. I had to call down stairs for my 2 bottle of water that came with my stay. Instead of them bringing it up, I had to come downstairs and get it. Now I'm thinking, I see the bag with my name on it and she should of known I'm a hilton honors member when she pulled me up in the system.

3. Cleaning service knocks on my door at 9am, that's the worst for me. You woke me up. Checkout is at 1230p.

4. The good thing is breakfast and drinks.

Great location and being updated

Even though I live in the Atlanta suburbs, I frequently stay at a downtown hotel when I'm at an Altanta conference. I've stayed at this location many times. This experience was not the best, but the location is awesome if you're at a conference at the World Trade Center. The facility is getting older, but they advertise that they are remodeling. I had issues with the evening reception (not having Chardonnay) and the breakfast was horrible (fake eggs, long lines to order something). I ended up going to the conference without eating 3 days in a row! I also always recognize that the layout of the hotel with a middle atrium will be loud. I was up all night with the noise, even with the room door closed. Please take your ear plugs. The cost is pricey and I would likely not have not selected this hotel if I would have known the experience. However, I love Embassy Suites and they are my "go-to" hotel when I travel. Hopefully, my hometown Embassy Suites will make some positive changes.

Great with one exception

I travel extensively for work and fun and this Embassy is one of the better properties I have stayed at this year. Great location right downtown, amazing free breakfast, comfortably large suites.

The only problem I had was that my car was damaged/vandalized while in care of the valet service. It would have been a minor thing except it was a safety issue as one of my mirrors was damaged. I had to drive home 300 miles with my family without a mirror. Hats off to mgr. Ms. Ivy and Ben the valet captain for attempting to help us all they could and assuring they would help make it right. I made it home safely and It ended up being a minor repair from a local shop for around $60. Embassy paid me back for the repair, but it took around a month to get the money. They did an investigation, but never really found out how the damage occurred. The body shop owner said he sees this often from valet services and that the car had to have been hit very hard on the side mirror to cause such damage, but no evidence was ever found to suggest this happened. At least they paid us back for the damage. It's just a shame that it put a huge damper on our exit from the hotel. We were there an extra 2+ hours upon exit and then a couple of trips to the shop and a month waiting for payment.

Again, with this exception, I would gladly say this hotel is very nice and we will plan on staying here if we ever get back to downtown Atlanta.
