Even though we didn't speak much German the hotel staff were spot on!

Zevon36on 10/08/2017 21:21This was our second family visit to this modern hotel. Lovely clean rooms, comfy beds, walk in shower area unfortunately no survival kits in one of the rooms, a well stocked mini bar and free bottled water every day, although I personally would have preferred an in room tea or coffee maker. The wifi is also very good with a free upgrade to a faster speed. Our room had great views of the River Elbe enhanced by the full length windows, it was nice to watch the ships and ferry boats go about their business. The entire hotel staff, from main reception to ancillary were very friendly and polite. There is a nice bar at the top of the hotel called '20up' which gave fabulous views, however I suggest if you want a table or seat at the bar, arrive early as it very busy, another lounge bar 'David's' is on the ground floor though we didn't visit that one. Breakfast has an excellent selection though quite pricey. We were disappointed that the room it was served in on this visit was much smaller and appeared to have slightly less choice but was enough for our needs. The Empire Riverside is in a superb location, only a few minutes walk to the Reeperbahn, Landungsbrücken, St Pauli Fischmarkt and other places of interest.
Public transport is very efficient and reasonably priced just over 11 euros for a group of up to 5 people valid for 24 hours includes use on buses, U-Bahn S-bahn and harbour ferries but not the private river tours (Große Hafenrundfahrt). The only negative viewI have about the hotel is the lack of art work gives a stark and clinical feel to the corridors.

I was here for business trip twice : nice room, very spacious and a huge bathroom!
King size bed, with TV, an a beautiful view on Elb river.
Breakfast is gorgeous !
If you have time, go on the bar on the top, the view is beautiful !
Amazing rooms - amazing view
crowie54on 22/07/2017 22:42Rooms are lovely and spacious and you have full length window the entire width of the room for a great view out over Hamburg.
Comfortable beds, large TV and huge bathroom. I had a walk in shower.
Great wifi too - all included.
Lots to choose from at breakfast and you can help yourself to as much as you like. Cereal, fruits, meats, cheeses, cooked, breads, choice of teas/coffees/juices.
There's a bar on the ground floor and also on on the 20th floor.
Staff were always pleasant and helpful. I was mischarged something from my room but they didn't question me when I said it was wrong, just removed it from the bill.
