We always book apartment OR- IA, we have been lucky enough to visit twice this year, and have just booked to return in Oct. Algarve Getaways are so easy to book with, and always meet us at the Airport as arranged. For 60 Euros, I find this an excellent service, and most times it is a private transfer, without paying the extra for that.
The welcome pack of Water, Wine, Milk, Bisc, Crisps, tea, coffee and sugar is really appreciated. They also supply soap, and a few toiletries. We have only once had to contact them with a problem, and it was dealt with quickly. There is one local bar, Victoria, about 5 mins from apartment, where free wi-fi is available. This apt is very spacious.
This apartment is absolutely spotless and has everything you need. The whole complex is maintained to a high level. I will be back its the best apartment I have stayed in for a holiday and would recommend it to any age range. Well kept, modern, clean just perfect. Good location And views And a chilled out atmosphere
Just had an amazing stay at this beautiful apartment. The location is perfect, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the old town but yet only a 10 minute walk in the evening to try one of the many restaurants. The apartment has everything needed for your stay. The most memorable part our holiday will be the beautiful views from the balconies, a great place for sunbathing and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening!
Just returned from one week staying here and it was nothing short of perfect. The apartment was clean and had everything we could possibly need for the week. The rooms are all spacious and with air con, although we rarely used it because as soon as we had the doors open on each of the three (!!) balconies a lovely light breeze came through, taking the edge off the heat.
The balconies are on different sides of the apartment, so you can follow the sun round the entire day if you wanted to! Not overlooked either, and with fantastic views of the marina / sea / towards the Old Town.
The pool was ideal, there was always a sun bed free because of the ingenius idea that no one can reserve sunbeds! This should be the case everywhere, it meant that people took their belongings with them when they went up to their apartment, freeing up the beds for others. There was a parasol in our apartment that we could take down to the pool and put in the holders provided.
The walk to the Old Town was absolutely fine. It's cobbled and relatively steep, so on the way down you just have to watch your footing, and on the way back up you raise your heart rate a bit, but it's quite welcome when you're overindulging on holiday! It took us 15 minutes to walk into the Old Town, and it was nice to try different routes to get there. With all sorts of restaurants in the Old Town it was easy to find somewhere yummy to eat each night. Also worth taking a trip to the Marina to eat down there - lovely and peaceful.
Contact with the owner was fantastic, they were very responsive with their replies and put us at ease as this was our first time booking a private apartment. They offered some great advice for the area and sent full detailed instructions before we went. There was no delay in returning the security deposit either, really impressed.
I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to anyone, I really hope that we will be able to return.
Stayed in Block C, Apartment 2B for the last 2 weeks. Booked through Booking.com and cannot fault the apartment or the property manager Irina. Apartment had everything including washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, air conditioning and free quick wifi. When we contacted Irina she responded straightaway - no issues at all.
The Apartments are very secure. The property is gated. Access on foot is via a locked gate (for which you have a key) or by car via a locked gate opened via a sensor system.
Location of Apartments is up a steep hill. Yes - it's a 12 minute walk down to the nearest Supermarket and 15-20 minute walk to the Square in the Old Town - but coming back, from the minute you leave the beach or the square it's all uphill, taking about 25 minutes plus. A taxi back to the apartments is about 7-8 euros. It says the Marina is 800 metres from the Apartments - as the crow flies maybe, but if you're walking about 25 minutes walk down and then again it's all uphill on the way back. We got used to it but it was me, my husband and our 14 year old daughter. In the heat it was draining. In the evening a bit easier. How older people would manage or small children - I'm not sure. If you have a car, obviously this isn't a problem.
Pool -there are strict rules in place around the pool which are monitored and policed by a Security Guard. There are 2 pools - on the upper level is the children's pool, there is no shade here and no parasols are provided (we had to buy one). In this pool you can use floats, inflatables and balls etc to play in the water, for an adult the water comes up just above your knees. The lower level is the adult pool, again no parasols but some shade from trees. You are not allowed to take anything into the pool to 'play' with e.g. ball, frisby. No diving/jumping in that may cause disruption to other guests. No food around the pool. No reserving beds. If the security guard sees towels on beds and no guests are around he will remove the towels and place them on the floor. We bought a ball (before we saw the sign) and were told off by the guard for using it.
There are over 100 apartments and about 45 beds between the 2 levels. You either wait for a bed or put towels on the grass.
We did enjoy our stay - but would not return.
