Exciting place
on 15/07/2017 08:16We stayed the first 2 weeks of our trip in Bali at Evita Villa in one of the private pool rooms. We enjoyed the entire stay there but there is things to improve that I will point out in the review as well.
- Free shuttle to Ubud at any time during the day / night (for the private pool villas otherwise it's 70k/per). Therefore we spent so much time in Ubud it was great. The staff isn't very fluent english speakers which make it difficult to communicate for the shuttles location, we ended up always meeting them at Coco Supermarket for drop/pickups and we'd walk around then.
- Cable TV available, Stereo to connect your phone, and an A/C that kept the room at 18deg C, way cooler than outside.
- Room service is very good, breakfast, lunch, dinner served to your courtyard outside. We also had full body massages in our courtyard by experienced masseuse for an affordable price.
- Pool looked well maintained, we swam in it often. Water is cold enough to be refreshing, the underwater light didn't work though.
- Cleaning the room happened everyday as soon as we would leave with the shuttle, we'd get new towels, 2 water bottles, 2 bintangs in the fridge.
- Insects were mostly outside in the courtyard where the food is served so you better throw away your foods and call for them to pick up your meal when it's done to keep the ants away, we had very few of them. Inside the room there was occasional spiders to deal with any mosquitos which we didn't mind at all. At some occasions in the morning we did feel like we had an additional insect bite itching.
After 2 weeks we had many itching bites that you wouldn't get from an indoor hotel so it is to consider if you choose this villa. I should of use more bug spray on my legs.
I loved my stay and experience at Evita Villa. The services were great and overcome the things that weren't as good.
Creepy
Muhammad Aon 20/12/2016 22:351st i cancelled the reservation the same day i came ... i didnt felt comfortable ... the place is creepy at day i felt so scared and i cant imagine how would it be at night ... i found that the villa is located near the cymmetries and the graves which is scares me more ... the toilet is in the open air has no roof ... my wife had a mosqitue bite that make her hand become very bad
We return back to the hotel that we were in before it was much better
Far away from crowds
yoseptanon 25/09/2016 11:34I wouldn't say it was a bad location, but I was more focused on the terms of quietness and privacy. A mix of Balinese-style decor and modern-style completely comfortable. Private pool has available, scrubs services and a face mask treatment makes skin feel more relaxed. Suggested hire own car to arrive here or can use the airport-shuttle-service is available too.
A place not to book.....
Stephanie aon 14/09/2016 08:01well where to begin.....
travelling down through the outback of ubud situated right near the cemetry with not much to offer, soon enough you will turn into the run-down evita villas. upon arrival we were taken to our villa which was very run down. The pool was probably the highlight of the villa but that couldnt save us from the ant infestation that plagued our room, not only did they cover half the bedroom floor they ended up all through our bag and clothes and making my toothbrush there new home. The staff solution to the problem was half a can of bagon insect spray and a broom to make a lovely pile of dead ants, to make the matter worse the staff were unapologetic and gave no compensation for the inconvience. The ant problem continued through the night and luckily for our handy can of bagon we survived till morning. morning came and we packed our bags and got the hell of out of there. side note to the stay:
air conditioning was terrible barely kept the room cool and we weren't even there in really hot season!
water pressure was all over the place.
safety deposit box was broken.
the bathroom was below average for a villa at that price for a night.
extremely dissapointing as we were paying decent money to stay somewhere suppose to be lovely!! To top off the whole ordeal not one single staff member apologised or offered a solution to the issues. we still had to pay for the awful evening stay and then had to go into ubud and try find accomadation for the rest of our trip! If u want luxury or even a pleasant stay in ubud evita is not the place to go.
Not recommended
yongsymon 02/08/2016 14:47Me and my girlfriends stayed there for 4D3N. If not for the fact that we had paid for the entire stay in full on the first day, we would have checked out after one day.
- Poorly maintained. Looked very run down
- Pool looked so dirty that we didn't dare to step into it.
- Safe was broken so we couldn't store our valuables in it.
- Low walls around the villa made us feel unsafe. On one of the days, we saw a man on the roof (probably doing maintenance work?) and he could definitely look into our villa.
- Design of the open concept bath area made us feel so insecure that we didn't dare to shower at night.
- Water pressure of the tap and shower were inconsistent throughout.
- Bathroom floor can get very slippery.
- Villa door is locked with a simple padlock, which added to our insecurity.
- No view at all.
Only saving grace was the free shuttle service to Ubud Centre which we could arrange any time. The staff were friendly but their service was let down by their poor English.
