What People are saying
nice, clean, non-smoking
Mia Bon 05/05/2017 17:54We were able to stay here with our newborn because of the non smoking policy. Our room was nice and clean. We thought we forgot our toothbrush etc and got complimentary stuff from front desk. Especially love the mini kitchen although we only spent one night in Reno
Great Room
709titahon 28/02/2017 04:00My room was very clean, bright and big. The bathroom was spotless. I had everything I needed for my comfort. My room had a kitchenette and I had to do was call the front desk to get coffee pot and pots and pans and everything I needed. Highly recommend this extended stay America.
Great Staff!
laurabN5128UFon 07/02/2017 17:45Very friendly and helpful staff. Was only a 2-night stay, so didn't need to have full services to fully rate this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was no safe in the room or coffee maker as stated, but there was coffee in the lobby. Because the rooms had been remodeled not all the rooms had the hair dryers returned, so I had to get one at the front desk, which I felt was a minor issue.
One nasty surprise after another. Stay away.
kgoel2016on 28/12/2016 03:07Few things to know about this hotel:
1. They don't clean the room daily. It is weekly unless you pay them extra. There was no mention of it when I was booking it. No room cleaning for a week. Disgusting!
2. The hotels does NOT even change towels daily. You have to ask them for clean towels. When we asked, we were told they were in "washing". Seriously, you don't have enough bath towels for the guests. I'd ask the management what they running? I am pretty sure it is not a hotel.
3. When we arrived we were told that pots, pans and any utensils were provided as a courtesy to guests and there were none available at that time. There was no coffee machine, no cups and not even a water bottle in the room. The lady at the front desk told us that the corporate has asked them to keep pots and pans for only 70% of the rooms. So, when the hotel is fully booked, 30% of the room don't have pots and pans or any utensils. What is the point of having a kitchenette if there are not pot and pans? Do these guys expect people to travel with pots and pan in case Extended stay Reno cannot provide them?
4. Breakfast is a joke - a basket of muffins, energy bars and coffee. Is it breakfast that they refer to in their amenities? It is not breakfast. It is sacks you keep just in case someone in the hotel is dying of hunger.
5. On Extended Stay website, it is advertised that the room are "All Rooms are Newly Renovated and Non-Smoking". Really, these are renovated room. If a smelly, broken 10 year old AC, carpets that look terrible and lights that flickers are part of renovation to give guests a feeling of a halfway house, then yes, rooms have been renovated.
6. The hotel staff is well trained to make excuses. Here is the sample for your enjoyment:
- When you ask for fresh towels, they are in washing.
- When you ask for pot or pans, they are with other guest
- When you if someone can send them to the room when they are available, the excuse is that "I am the only one". Really, one person per shift for the entire hotel.
The room we staying in was old and musty. The AC unit made the rooms smell even worse. We switched off the AC and slept. I have a 3-night stay, but will leave as soon as I can. Will not bother about refund or anything else.
We called Travelocity, about the issues, they said the hotel manager Steve will call. No one called. When we asked, we were told that there is no one by the name Steve. So, they are not taking the agent for a ride. Awesome!
I am just surprised how they can still call themselves a branded hotel like Extended stay. I have stayed at several Extended stay hotels. This one is just plain terrible. I stayed in Motel six once for half the price, it was much better.
I do admire the ability of the hotel staff/and management about coming up with excuses that I have never heard. After every conversion, I'd think it could not get worse, but to my surprise, there were one surprise after another.
I can continue but there are better things to do with my time. Personally, I'd like to hear from the hotel or Extended stay corporate. There are better ways to ruin a brand or shut down a hotel.
In short, huge mistake. We'd think a hundred times even if we were paid to stay here.
P.S.: The lights in the rooms have started flickering. We are bracing for another surprise.
