Had a fabulous time. The staff we excellent however don't have a party of 15 to eat at the Italian restaurant. They won't be able to take you. The bar food, function food and breakfast were super though. Spa/pool/gym facilities were great too

Beautiful Hotel, Friendly Staff

The Fairmont St. Andrews is a beautiful hotel, surrounded by awe-inspiring Scottish landscape. Upon driving into the grounds, I was amazed by the practically untouched farm-land, and the plentiful golf courses that looked right out onto the English Channel. My first impressions of the building were quite pleasant, and we were immediately greeted warmly by the attendants working the car park. The lobby is beautiful, and upon entering, I noticed plenty of places to sit, and a lovely cafe just a bit away from the front desk. Check in was smooth, and the attendant was both knowledgeable, and friendly. We were soon on our way to our room on the third floor, and upon walking off the lift, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the corridors and I immediately took note of how well maintained everything was. We soon arrived at our room, and I was so impressed. The room itself was huge, and hosted a large bathroom and a lovely view. I loved the ability to open the windows, and the heated towel racks in the bathroom. The beds were quite comfortable, and the USB input on the side of the headboard was convenient, and much appreciated. A brief side note, the Wifi was fast and free so a huge plus, especially for international travelers. Moving on from the room, the hotel features an arcade which was great for any younger guests and had a lovely heated pool with wonderful loungers that you could relax on. There are so many dining options, and all of them were wonderful. Breakfast in the morning had many options, and the food was quite fresh and very enjoyable. Breakfast is served in the form of a buffet, and I did quite enjoy the set up, as it was easy and fast for guests to get what they wished. The Fairmont was only a 10 minute drive to the town of Saint Andrews, and put you at a great location to take day trips to near-by castles and other heritage sites. Overall, loved The Fairmont and hope to return again in the near future.

Stayed here on a golfing vacation. Very nice facility and the staff is top notch! Stayed with a group of golfers, and had a very enjoyable time. The lady that runs the golf shop in the hotel was wonderful and took extremely good care of us. The chef's that ran the breakfast were excellent.

The fairmont is in a beautiful spot just outside st.andrews. overlooking the golf course down to the town itself. The hotel is absolutely beautiful as are the rooms. We are in the Italian restaurant and although the service was slow the fodd was fabulous. The bar is lovely to relax in. A fabulous place to spend sometime.

My family stayed at the Fairmont in March. My brother and brother in law had tickets for the famous golf courses. The rooms were very nice. My brother got upgraded to a very nice suite. We had afternoon tea that we loved. Food was great. The people were extremely nice. The grounds were well kept and lovely to stroll. My brothers also liked the golf courses. Overall, i would recommend staying here. We also had spa treatements. The spa massage I got was great. I liked the whole facility and truly enjoyed tea. Just make sure you make spa appointments well in advance. We could not get the same time but there was 4 of us. Loved the views from the room of the water and the green lands. You can take the shuttle to town. It was a great stay and I would go back.
