What People are saying

Not Fancy, but Very Clean and Comfortable!

72louannmon 02/06/2017 22:31

We have stayed here twice now and while this is not a fancy motor lodge, you can't beat it for cleanliness. The personnel are friendly and very helpful. They serve a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Nice pool area on the site and walking distance to the beach. Within walking distance to the Island Queen landing. Highly recommend.

Clean, convenient, but ...

We stayed in the main motel building with another couple while on a trip to the Cape. Our room was very clean and the motel is conveniently located near the beach and the ferry. It also is just a 5 minute drive to the beautiful downtown area. That being said, our room was too small for two people. Add to that that the walls are thin. One night a guest in a neighboring room had his TV on very loud and we had to ask him at 11 p.m. to turn it down. On the second night the person in the room on the other side of us could be heard snoring loudly. Another time we heard a neighboring guests telephone conversation. Our queen bed was too large for the room. The continental breakfast was sorely lacking. On our last morning a bus tour left at 8 a.m. and wiped out the breakfast except for a few apples and energy bars. The staff was very friendly. Perhaps their other buildings are better, but the main building rooms are lacking for all but one person

Great Experience

We were in Anchor House B. Large studio efficiency apartment. Clean, comfortable room. Roomy deck. Bathroom is a little small but workable. Continental breakfast included some fresh baked items. We were able to park next to the unit

Go for the upgrade rooms.

I say this without any real knowledge of the smaller rooms. However, we stayed in one of the upgrade rooms. It had a nice front porch to sit on, which looked out over a pretty green space. You have a kitchenette, utensils, pots, plates, etc. We were on an extended trip, so it was nice to eat in a couple of nights. In fact they have a very nice set of gas grills and all oh the equipment in the center of the green space, so I grilled steaks one night. The Lodge also is within walking distance of the Martha's Vineyard Ferry, which is excellent for a day trip. The Lodge also has some deals on Ferry tickets, so be sure to ask. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. All in all a very nice experience and a good value.

Great hospitality & location

Our first impression was of a quaint motor inn with a very friendly and warm staff. The grounds are lovely! The woman at the desk was giving very detailed and customized travel advice to the couple who checked in before us - always nice to see. She was just as friendly to us as we checked in, taking time to ask us about our visit and plans. Parking is extremely convenient, with dedicated spots directly outside each room. The inn is moments away from beautiful downtown Falmouth, with tons of shopping and food choices. The room was small but adequate for two. It smelled clean when we walked in. Decor felt like 80s chic, with worn fabrics on bed and chair. Bed was very hard/firm and a bit creaky. That said -- we both slept ok and had no back pain in the AM. There is a handy vanity for doing work or makeup. A small microwave and fridge would make for easy leftover storage and enjoyment. The fixtures in the small bathroom were IMMACULATELY clean and water pressure was sufficient. After waking up with a stuffy nose, I took notice of what appeared to be some mildew along the seams of the wallpaper in the bathroom that wiped off with a tissue. I hear this is common in the cape, given the environment. However, it did activate my allergies, and that's why I'm mentioning it. There was a heating/cooling unit that warmed the room FAST and also acted as a wonderful white noise maker to make sleeping easier for this light sleeper. Price was fair relative to Cape prices, though I have liked to have paid a little less given the size and design of the room. Upon checkout, there were some mini muffins and coffee at reception and a friendly send off.
